FORT WORTH -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man and his 3-year-old daughter, missing since Saturday when they left to go to the store but never came back.

Mark Meador, 44, and Olivia Wade were about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Meador, who was caring for the girl while her mother was at work, told the mother's roommate that the pair were going to the store and would be back in 15 minutes, according to a police report.

The two left the home in the 8800 block of Avril Court in a 1994 green four-door Isuzu Rodeo with Texas license plate P51TPX, police said.

Major case Detective R.J. Prioleau said he does not believe that Olivia was abducted.

Meador has a history of drug abuse and is known to frequent areas where drugs are sold. The girl's mother told police that Meador had a habit of panhandling at various locations throughout the city.

She also said it was possible Meador may have gone to a party to drink and left his daughter in the car, the report stated.

Olivia is described as 3-foot-6-inches tall, 40 pounds with blue eyes and blond hair. She was wearing dark gray pants and a pink shirt.

Meador, who is 6 foot tall and 240 pounds with green eyes and brown hair, was wearing black pants, with a white long sleeve shirt over a short sleeve shirt with "Sport Clips" printed on it.

Great mother ping! She should immediately have her tubes tied for failing to protect her child.

Let's see, the mother knows he has a history of drug abuse, he's inclined to go panhandling and partying and he might take the child along on such excursions. And she let him babysit.

Prayers for the poor baby, and if she's found she should not be returned to the mother until the mother has had some parenting classes.

You don't leave your child with a man like that, might as well leave her with a monkey. Best policy is not to leave a child at all.

I smell welfare's hands in this. They can't get him to support the mother so they oblige her to support herself in order to continue receiving payments. If the child is snatched from a negligent caregiver and sold on the black market, that's fine with them. They can then cut the mother off entirely.

The article clearly states that she KNEW he was a druggie. She bears some responsibility in this matter.

Prayers for the little girl.

I met a woman once at the YMCA who was divorced from her druggie husband. She pleaded with the judge to keep her son from from having to spend time with him, but to no avail. The boy used to come back to his mother with horrible and scary stories, but the courts did nothing about it. I lost touch with her years ago, but think about her often. She and her son were sweethearts.

That's sad. She shouldn't have trusted a judge to do right. Judges only do legal. Nowadays there's a world of difference between right and legal.
