KITTITAS, Wash. — People here have come together to try to find an 11-year-old boy missing since September, with two important exceptions: his father, and the father's live-in girlfriend. A community search and a candlelight vigil for Richard "Cody" Haynes Jr. (search) took place without Richard "Rick" Haynes and Marla Jaye Harding, who have retained a lawyer and refuse to talk formally with investigators. "Their behavior is definitely curious," Kittitas Police Chief Steve Dunnagan told The Spokesman-Review in Spokane. "It does make us ask, 'Why does he have to have an attorney to help us find his son?"' Dunnagan, who...

A 54-year-old passenger vanished as a ship returned from a five-day cruise to the Bahamas, and a daylong ocean search turned up no sign of him. The hunt was called off yesterday. Glen Sherridan was reported missing by his wife a day earlier, after the Carnival Cruise Line ship Celebration docked in Jacksonville. The ship's electronic exit and entry program showed he had not disembarked after arrival, and a crew search of the vessel came up empty, Carnival said. Gloria Sherridan said she had last seen her husband about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. She said he was an early riser and...

SARAJEVO (AFP) - The search for more than a million Iraqis who went missing under the regime of Saddam Hussein may take more than 30 years due to the lack of local expertise and poor security, Iraqi Human Rights Minister Bakhtiar Amin said. "It will take more than 30 years ... to find more than one million missing," Amin said Monday, adding that the main problem was the lack of experts and technical support to identify bodies. "So far we have found 283 mass grave sites, and if the security situation allows we will find more of them," Amin said,...

Except for the presidential election, the most important election this year will take place on April 27 in Pennsylvania. No, it's not the "American Idol" finals. It's even more important than that. That's the day of the Republican primary pitting a great Republican, Pat Toomey, against the 74-year-old, Ira Einhorn-defending alleged "Republican," Arlen Specter.

bout 6000 shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles are outside the control of any government worldwide, according to The New York Times. The number is triple the previous estimate of 2000 missing arms, and about 4000 of the weapons are said to be from Iraq's pre-war arsenals. The new estimate was discussed at a closed Defence Intelligence Agency conference in Alabama last week on the threat posed by the portable missiles to civil aviation, the newspaper said. Western intelligence and security officials have warned in recent months about the danger of attack by al-Qaeda operatives on civilian planes, similar to the 2002 near-hit...

LOS ANGELES — Explosives were looted from the Al-Qaqaa (search) ammunitions site in Iraq while outnumbered U.S. soldiers assigned to guard the materials watched helplessly, soldiers told the Los Angeles Times. About a dozen U.S. troops were guarding the sprawling facility in the weeks after the April 2003 fall of Baghdad when Iraqi looters raided the site, the newspaper quoted a group of unidentified soldiers as saying. U.S. Army reservists and National Guardsmen witnessed the looting and some soldiers sent messages to commanders in Baghdad requesting help, but received no reply, they said.

Since new CIA Director Porter Goss blocked the October Surprise agency left-wingers had prepared against Bush (discussed in “Porter At The Pass” last week), they desperately rigged another one, working with Mohammad ElBaradei at the UN. What nobody is focusing on in Al Qaqaagate is that the CIA is behind it. The anti-Bush lefties are now known as the “Rogue Weasels” at Langley, and they are frantic to do whatever they can to elect Kerry. They cooked up this entire phony “tons of missing explosives” scandal, sweet-talked the head of the UN’s nuclear inspection agency, ElBaradei, to carry their water...

I've just started to hear on different news stations here in SE Florida, that they now believe, after checking the records, that there are no missing ballots, just unreturned ones. Now, how did they think that they could confirm any such ballots with absentees, anyway? Media nonsense, once again trying to make Florida look bad for partisan purposes.

Inter-Galactic Edition | COMRADE SERVICES Kerry slams Bush over missing Alien Explosives 'One of the great blunders of this administration' PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire (AP) -- Sen. John Kerry is blaming President Bush for the disappearance of tons of Alien explosives from a Roswell, NM stockpile."And now we know that our country and our troops are less safe because this president failed to do the basics," Kerry said at a campaign appearance in Dover, New Hampshire, on Monday."This is one of the great blunders of Homeland Security, one of the great blunders of this administration. And the incredible incompetence...

Senator Kerry. I have another question for you to answer: If [as you assert] there is a strong likelihood that the 380 tons(3 tons) of weapons went missing under our noses right after we invaded Iraq, wouldn't it follow that, any WEAPONS of MASS DESTRUCTION would have been shuttled of FIRST. as well? If the anti-coalition forces were successful in shuttling off conventional weapons WITHOUT our NOTICE, why coudln't they have SHUTTLED off WMD? Isn't it FUNNY (STRANGE) that your positions are: 1) There WERE NO WMD, because we haven't been able to locate them, and... 2) There WERE CONVENTIONAL...

Senator John Kerry is once again making claims that he cannot substantiate. He charges that President Bush’s “misjudgments” led to the disappearance of 380 tons of explosives from the Iraqi al-Qaqaa facility, and that these explosives have been used against U.S. troops -- even though there is no proof for such accusations. While the Kerry campaign has already released a television ad making such allegations, they simultaneously have backed off from the same charges. Senator Kerry’s TV ad states: The obligation of a Commander in Chief is to keep our country safe. In Iraq, George Bush has overextended our troops...

Question to the Liberal Senator from Mass: You and your cronies (aka MSM) have been quick to blast this administration and accuse it of negligence for not accounting for 380 tons of a weapons cache out of a total 400 THOUSAND TONS of known weapons that HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY capture/destroyed. Obviously, both you and Al Gore have problems with doing math. These 'missing' weapons amount to less then 0.1 percent of all captured weapons. In otherwords, the coalition forces have accounted for 99.9% of all known weapons. Mr Senator. Please tell the us why a 99.9% success rate represents failure,...
