I’ve just seen Sex and the City and now I’m going to review it. There will be spoilers. If you’re still waiting with baited breath to see this movie (a description that I doubt applies to many Freepers) don’t read any further unless you’ve already guessed that it’s going to be pretty much like a Jane Austen story but with gratuitous sex scenes, designer clothes, and a plethora of clichéd observations about life and love. In other words, a happy ending, and no one dies. I should say right away, I was expecting someone to die because I’d overheard a...

Here is a good example of American Politics. These arrogant bastards cry out before the cameras “Every Vote Must Count” while they have the audacity and arrogance to go behind close doors, ignore their own party rules, defy the American public, and make deals amongst themselves. It’s hard to figure out what’s worse, our corrupt unethical congress, arrogant deceitful politicians, or the thousands of thugs in gangs across America.

America has been greatly blessed by God and has stood as the greatest country in the history of the world for over 200 years. America has many foreign and domestic enemies that are seeking her destruction. This thread is a daily call and reminder for people of faith who believe in God and in the power of prayer to make a commitment to intercede for America at this critical time in her history. 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,...

(SNIP) And then there's Phoenix International Raceway, the iconic desert mile nestled at the base of the Estrella Mountains outside of town. While it's renowned for producing great racing, the 44-year-old facility lacks most of the comforts of the other, newer stadiums in the greater Phoenix market. The vast majority of its 76,812 grandstand seats are simple aluminum bleachers. With the exception of suites spanning the first two turns and a tunnel that replaced a pedestrian bridge, this rather austere facility still looks very much like it did decades ago. In a city famous for its sports stadiums, Phoenix's racetrack...

Think about this. In what is supposed to be a Democratic washout year for the Presidential election. McCain is leading now in National Polls! 4 years ago at this time, W. was way behind Kerry in the same polls. And this is after Barrack Hussain Obama has spent more money than any other candidate in a primary and has had more exposure than any other candidate since he is the darling of the media. Hussain should be ahead by 20 points, but he is not. Why not?? I surmise that the average white male is just not going to vote...

TOKYO - A homeless woman who sneaked into a man's house and lived undetected in his closet for a year was arrested in Japan after he became suspicious when food mysteriously began disappearing. Police found the 58-year-old woman Thursday hiding in the top compartment of the man's closet and arrested her for trespassing, police spokesman Hiroki Itakura from southern Kasuya town said Friday. The resident of the home installed security cameras that transmitted images to his mobile phone after becoming puzzled by food disappearing from his kitchen over the past several months. One of the cameras captured someone moving inside...

Fill in the blank history month. It seems like every month is a _______ history month. I've heard many arguments why there is a black, hispanic, asian, etc. month, but no white history month. It's a good argument. If every other ethnic group has one, why can we? People walk on egg shells when this question is posed, because "white guilt" has permeated this country. If you even argue for it, you're called a racist. Mind you, ________ history month celebrates the achievements of whichever ethnic group has dibs on the month. I've done the math, and adding up all...

Welcome to the Weekend Singles' Thread!! This weekend's topic is crushes, and once again, this one wasn't my idea. The idea may still be interesting, and we'll see what people have to say. Just in case, I'm going to try to give some extra bonus questions. A couple of things are true about crushes. First, everyone has had them. Second, I'm not sure that anyone really likes admitting them. If I'm right, maybe this will be a difficult thread, but I'm not going to ask anyone to admit to anything. A third thing about crushes may be that we don't...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A Fox News employee who says she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder after being bitten by bedbugs at work filed a lawsuit on Thursday against the owner of the Manhattan office tower where she worked. Jane Clark, 37, a 12-year veteran of Fox News, a unit of News Corp, said she complained to human resources after being bitten three times between October 2007 and April 2008. She said she was ridiculed and the office was not treated for months. Beacon Capital Partners, which owns the tower in midtown Manhattan, said in a statement that it had...

No, Lady Godiva wasn't starkers and an apple didn't really fall on Isacc Newton's head... we reveal those other historical myths By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 1:29 AM on 30th May 2008For decades, visitors to HMS Victory have stood solemnly by a plaque in gold lettering announcing the exact spot on the orlop deck where Nelson met his end. But this week it was revealed he didn't actually die there after all - it was 25 feet to the fore that he passed away - and the ship's curator Peter Goodwin admitted: 'History is not always what it...

Those of you of a certain age will recall a time when TV stations didn't stay on the air constantly but signed off late at night (with the National Anthem) and signed on again early in the morning. And in those days televisions had tuning buttons on them that had to be adjusted by hand so the snowy signals from far away could come in as clearly as possible. Each morning the station would begin the day with a "test pattern" (usually with an Indian's head somewhere about for whatever reason) so the viewer could tune his set for the...

On a roller-coaster with Susan Sarandon Last Updated: 12:01am BST 24/05/2008 The actress and political activist takes John Hiscock on a tour through her film career - and her forthright opinions Don't expect to see Susan Sarandon showing off her house for any glossy magazine. The Oscar winner, who combines beauty with brains and political conscience, has far too much going on in her life to care about keeping the New York home she shares with actor Tim Robbins tidy, let alone photogenic. Susan Sarandon "A long time ago, I had to really give up on any semblance of order,"...
