The multimillion-dollar Long Island home at the center of a dispute between rapper 50 Cent and his former girlfriend was destroyed by a suspicious fire early today, officials said.
The blaze occurred just days after a heated confrontation inside the woman's lawyers office over the home.
The rapper does not live in the home and was not there at the time of the fire, officials said.
Six people inside the Dix Hills home suffering smoke inhalation, including the former girlfriend and a boy fathered by the rapper.
A firefighter also suffered a minor eye injury, officials said.
Fire officials from the Suffolk County arson squad were called to the home after Dix Hills Fire Chief Larry Feld deemed the blaze suspicious.
The fire was reported about 5 a.m. and extinguished an hour later, officials said.
The rapper's ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, and two of her children - including 50 Cent's son - were among the injured.
The other three adults in the home were not immediately identified.
Earlier this year, Tompkins filed a lawsuit against the rapper - whose real name is Curtis Jackson - claiming he had promised her the $2.4 million house more than a decade ago but that since their breakup he now wants to evict her and their 10-year-old son.
Tompkins' lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, said the dispute over the house had become "extremely, extremely contentious" in recent days.
Although he declined to be specific, he said there was an "extremely dangerous incident" Monday in his Manhattan office while taking a deposition

"Just a strange coincidence your honor, nothing else."
50 cents is a fairly modest name.
If I was a rapper, my name would be at least “20 bucks.”
Arson.
Well, that’s a sure “fire” way to evict someone.
Couldn’t happen to a sweller feller...
Props to Andre Rison and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes for the inspiration.
Unfortunately “Fi’ty”, as he is really known, had only fifty cents worth of insurance on the house. Bad advice from a “fan” masquerading as an Insurance Agent.
And WOW! I didn’t know his ex’s name was “Shaniqua”!
That just makes it all PERFECT~
Freebasing cocaine?
Or a way to keep him from getting it after the eviction. I'd say once they figure out whether the fire was started inside or outside the house they are well on their way to solving this.
The presence of people in the home makes it attempted murder.

Hmm. Is Fitty the perp, or is Fitty the victim? Should be interesting to see what the arson investigators turn up.

Hey, Fi'ty endorsed Bush back in 2004. I understand that he was having a hard time deciding between McCain and Obama this year, but decided to stay neutral since he's a felon and can't vote anyway.
It’s probably best that they never married. I mean, Shaniqua Cents would be a stupid name.
At least Great Neck has a coastline and hot Persian chicks (the limo liberal politics are the same, however).
No edgyoukayshun, no centz no good.
"Yo, Yo, Yo! I'm better than that."
Hey, ya gotta give 50 Cent’s credit..
He got the nappy headed ho outta da pad, when the lawyers couldn’t.
his boo ain’t got no house now
