What kind of “deal”? Anything but a clean CR getting passed is a betrayal.

Nothing on what the deal is. Per OK Sen Mullins on Fox this am, 3 of the 12 required annual appropriation bills get passed outright. CR as to the remainder. No idea if that’s how the final is shaking out

“insiders confirmed to CNN and Axios Republicans had secured enough Democrat votes to introduce a stopgap measure which would allow government funding to resume until late January”

The catch is that they'll have to agree to vote to extend ACA subsidies for a year and they can't use a filibuster.

The vote will take place in December.

They’ll vote for anything to protect the fillibuster.

A group of moderate Democrats has a tentative deal to reopen the government if Republicans promise to hold a vote on expiring health care subsidies by December, a potential breakthrough as lawmakers seek to end the shutdown.

The group of three former governors — New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan and Independent Sen. Angus King of Maine — has a deal to pass three annual spending bills and extend the rest of government funding until late January, according to three people familiar with the agreement who requested anonymity until the deal is made public.

The deal was far from final. It was unclear whether Republicans had signed off or if there would be enough Democrats to support it absent their central demand through the now 40-day shutdown — an extension of the Affordable Care Act tax credits that expire Jan. 1. Senate Democrats were meeting Sunday evening to discuss the agreement.

No, let’s just get it over with. For the extension of tax cuts, a vote in regular order and no promise to not filibuster. The dems have kept the CR from passing using the filibuster so no deal. If we cave here, January there will just be more demands.

Whatever this latest does, I think it needs to heed Trump’s call to end the filibuster, which is key to dealing with the 2020 stolen election for Nov 2026 - without mail-in voting and with voter ID.

Not getting too worked up over this.

Whatever gets passed Trump still has to sign anyway, so he has the ultimate veto power.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), who represents more than 144,000 federal employees in his home state, announced Sunday that he will support a deal to reopen the government even though it does not ensure an extension of enhanced health insurance premiums.

The legislation would, however, require the Trump administration to restore the thousands of federal workers fired during the shutdown during reductions in force (RIF), and it would prevent the president’s Office of Management and Budget from attempting additional layoffs until Jan. 30, 2026.

Make the promise, then break it. That’s one thing politicians are great at.
