America has been greatly blessed by God and has stood as the greatest country in the history of the world for over 200 years. America has many foreign and domestic enemies that are seeking her destruction. This thread is a daily call and reminder for people of faith who believe in God and in the power of prayer to make a commitment to intercede for America at this critical time in her history. 2 Chronicles 7:14if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then...

First of all we don't get cable. Haven't for years. So I'm out of the loop TV-wise. Yesterday had to go to the base hospital/clinic. It seems every TV there was locked on to CNN. So I was stuck watching it...or at least listening to it. It slowly dawned on me that outside the metrosexual weather guy, every on-air person, live or taped, was a gal....wearing outfits you'd expect to see at an up-sclae martini lounge. So I'm asking: When did CNN (and/or ABC,NBC, etc. for all I know) switch to this "all chick, T & A (well, T anyway)...

A hip rock band that features the Soviet national anthem and communist-inspired lyrics was on stage to open for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama at his record-breaking Portland, Ore., rally that attracted 75,000. The Decemberists, a Portland-based group with a large local following, also closed the May 18 event. The Decemberists typically begin their concerts with a Russian-language recording of the USSR's national anthem. A YouTube video shows the Decemberists beginning an April 31, 2007, concert at Messiah College in Grantham, Pa., with the anthem.

Years ago, when Jack Greenberg left the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to become a professor at Columbia University, he announced that he was going to make it a point to hire a black secretary at Columbia. This would, of course, make whomever he hired be seen as a token black, rather than as someone selected on the basis of competence. This reminded me of the first time I went to Milton Friedman's office when I was a graduate student at the University of Chicago back in 1960, and I noticed that he had a black secretary. This was four years...

NASA rushed Wednesday to get a special pump on board the shuttle Discovery to fix a balky toilet at the international space station, even as the launch countdown got under way. The space station’s Russian-built toilet has been acting up for the past week. The three male residents have temporarily bypassed the problem, which involves urine collection and not solid waste.

Singer Celine Dion is the biggest water utility user along Florida's Treasure Coast, consuming 6.5 million gallons in a year, a newspaper reported Sunday. The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported its investigation of water usage records for Martin County, Fla., utility users found many of the biggest consumers were on wealthy Jupiter Island, where Dion's company, Renlec Management, owns 5.7 acres. Her estate reportedly went through enough water in a one-year period to fill a 50-gallon bathtub every four minutes.

An armored fish was about to become a mom some 380 million years ago. Though the primitive fish perished, its fossilized remains remarkably reveal an embryo and umbilical cord inside the soon-to-be mother's body. The discovery marks the oldest evidence of an animal giving live birth, pushing the known record of such reproduction back by some 200 million years. It also supports the idea that internal fertilization in vertebrates (animals with backbones) originated in a group of primitive fish. "When I first saw the embryo inside the mother fish, my jaw dropped," said researcher John Long, a paleontologist at Museum...

While consuming too much homemade potato salad, hot dogs, low carb ice cream and diet soda, Mary hates it when I drink that stuff, I watched several Memorial Day tributes on TV. I am in total awe of the extraordinary Americans who have given us the prosperous and free America, so easily taken for granted today. Without question, God has shed His Grace on thee. WWII vet and Hollywood actor Charles Darnay was stabbed eight times by enemy bayonets in combat. He incredibly killed them all. This weekend, Darnay received an award for his bravery sixty years ago. With every...
