First of all we don't get cable. Haven't for years. So I'm out of the loop TV-wise. Yesterday had to go to the base hospital/clinic. It seems every TV there was locked on to CNN. So I was stuck watching it...or at least listening to it. For almost 60 years, Dianne Odell lived inside a 7-foot-long metal tube, unable to breathe outside it but determined not to let it destroy her spirit. Odell, 61, died Wednesday when a power failure shut off electricity to the tube and stopped the pump drawing air into her lungs.

NASA rushed Wednesday to get a special pump on board the shuttle Discovery to fix a balky toilet at the international space station, even as the launch countdown got under way.
