Someone finally listed a concrete Kamala Harris achievement from the podium at the Democratic National Convention: She cooks a mean brisket, hubby Doug Emhoff confided. Seriously: The speeches so far have been heavy with Trump-bashing, rich with vows to protect abortion rights, deep in “vibes” — but utterly empty on specifics about what the nominee actually does well. We’ve had the odd bit about how she was “tough” as San Francisco DA and California attorney general and some kind words about her (brief) Senate service — and President Biden said she shared in his achievements. But the closest Michelle Obama,...

Although more than two years have passed since the Obamas left the White House, former first lady Michelle Obama remains loved and appreciated throughout the world, according to a new poll. In fact, she is the most admired woman in the world, according to the latest YouGov poll. Obama dethroned Angelina Jolie, who held the title in last year’s poll.

In an interview with MSN.com, First Lady Michelle Obama explained she used to struggle to feed her kids right—even though she received an education from Harvard and Princeton. “Before coming to the White House, I struggled, as a working parent with a traveling, busy husband, to figure out how to feed my kids healthy, and I didn’t get it right,” she explained, sharing a story about her children’s doctor who pulled her aside to talk about her family diet.

Last night Michelle Obama used lines from Rules for Radicals, a radical Far Left book by Saul Alinsky (“father of community organizing” and a notorious far-left radical) in her DNC Convention speech. Gateway Pundit nailed her: What to make of Michelle Obama’s use the terms, “The world as it is” and “The world as it should be?” From whence do they originate? Try Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals. “Barack stood up that day,” talking about a visit to Chicago neighborhoods, “and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about “The world as...

The photos only offered us a glimpse. But it was all we needed in order to know that Michelle Obama wore something special to the Governors' Dinner at the White House last night. Forget the Oscars red carpet, the First Lady's asymmetric gown gave the A-list a serious run for their money. The pale, cream-coloured gown had a crystal-embellished bodice in a design of leaves and flowers, and a chiffon bow at the shoulder.

The first lady's well-publi cized, expensive vacation in southern Spain last week was a PR gift to her husband's opposition. After all, we're in the middle of a major recession, with many Americans suffering terribly. President Obama himself, in discussing American economic woes with George Stephanopolous in January, said, "Everybody's going to have to [sacrifice]. Everybody's going to have to have some skin in the game." "Sacrifice for thee but not for me" is not a great campaign slogan. Plus, Obama's worst political weakness has been with white-working class voters, who've viewed him with suspicion at least since the 2008...

The University of Chicago Medical Center will cut costs by $100 million, or almost 7 percent of its budget by 2010, and may reduce its staff significantly, the Center announced last week. It attributes the restructuring to falling investment and endowment values. It also reaffirmed its commitment to the $700-million hospital pavilion planned for 2012. Under the plan, which took effect last Monday, the Medical Center will enact several cost-saving measures in an effort to bring down its budget, including the elimination of four vice presidents and 11 other senior executive positions. Though they could not disclose the specific positions,...
