A 73-year-old Victorian farmer was killed when his ute rolled over his head as he tried to retrieve a load of strawberries. Police believe the man walked behind the vehicle to pick up some of the fruit that fell from a tray. The accident happened near the corner of Wonga and Warranwood roads at Warranwood, near the Melbourne suburb of Ringwood, shortly before noon (AEST). NEWPORT, Ore. -- Two people were killed Saturday on Highway 101 near the Sea Lion Caves. A Ford Excursion was passing several vehicles when the lead car in the line made a left turn and was broadsided by the Excursion. Oregon State Police said 23-year-old Trina Eyler and her passenger, 24-year-old Scott Carlson, both died. The driver of the Excursion, 20-year-old Salina Taylor-Caldwell, was treated for minor injuries. OSP is investigating the crash.

Commuter train derails in Glendale Associated Press GLENDALE, Calif. - A Metrolink commuter train derailed early Wednesday in this Los Angeles suburb, and firefighters were searching through the wreckage. Television reports showed smoke coming from twisted wreckage at the scene of the crash, where two separate trains could be seen derailed. The derailment in this Los Angeles suburb was near San Fernando Road and Chevy Chase Boulevard.

Springfield, Virginia-AP -- Arraignment is scheduled this morning for a hit-and-run suspect in northern Virginia. Police say the driver hit a man who'd gotten out of his car on an interstate in Fairfax County, near Washington. They think the victim's body was dragged more than eight miles to the home of the driver. The 25-year-old driver called police yesterday morning after finding the victim's body caught in the front-end suspension of his S-U-V. The man faces charges of manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and felony hit and run.
