In an email sent to a private listserv operated by Occupy Wall Street protest organizers, MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan pledged to personally deliver to Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin a petition listing the movement’s grievances, The Daily Caller has learned. “Hope you all are good,” Ratigan wrote to listserv members shortly after midnight on Oct. 7. “I’m taking the petition with 140,000 after 8 days as a USB drive to initiate a public conversation with Senator Durbin tomorrow midday about outlawing private money’s ability to purchase the government. He has been pushing this for many years.”

... The WH maintains a massive e-mail list as part of its effort to promote its position on pressing issues. On Thursday, senior adviser David Axelrod used the list to send out a "chain" e-mail asking supporters of health care reforms backed by the administration to forward his rebuttal to criticism circulating on Internet. The mail offered reasons to support Obama's agenda and tried to debunk what the White House decries as myths in the health care debate. ... But some people who received the e-mails directly from the White House forwarded them to FOX News and asked how they...

This is too funny. I logged into my original Internet account, which I rarely use anymore, to clean out the spam from the email. Now, I occasionally get messages from the Young Democrats club/list/group/whatever. I don't know how I ever got on that mailing list, but I find the fact that they send it to me of all people somewhat amusing. Well, on November 30, someone else who was pondering how she got on the list sent a reply to unsubscribe. Well, that was it. The flood gates opened. I had about 100 or more reply messages containing unsubscribe messages,...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- President Bush, seeking to mobilize religious conservatives for his reelection campaign, has asked church-going volunteers to turn over church membership directories, campaign officials said on Thursday. In a move sharply criticized both by religious leaders and civil libertarians, the Bush-Cheney campaign has issued a guide listing about two-dozen "duties" and a series of deadlines for organizing support among conservative church congregations. A copy of the guide obtained by Reuters directs religious volunteers to send church directories to state campaign committees, identify new churches that can be organized by the Bush campaign and talk to clergy members about...

FEC to Let Parties Sell Mailing Lists By SHARON THEIMER, Associated Press WriterWASHINGTON - Election officials agreed Thursday to let national political party committees sell their mailing lists to any buyers, including businesses and labor unions. The move would open up a new source of income for parties looking to compensate for the loss of millions of dollars in corporate and union soft money banned by the nation's new campaign finance law. A majority of the six-member Federal Election Commission (news - web sites) expressed support for the policy. The FEC stopped short of a final vote, however, instead...
