It has been brought up by me and many others, both recently and over time, that American conservatives may simply be too meek and nice to prevail against a determined, vicious, devious and underhanded enemy like the Marxist Left. I don't know that a dedicated thread to discuss this has yet been opened since the election, so I thought I would do so. I've never been large or overly strong, nor inherently unfriendly, but I grew up as a scrappy little kid, and people still occasionally say that I merely need to walk into a room for people to know...

... It seems to me and a lot of other folks that we might label the current bunch of bozos in Congress the Know-Nothing Party because, Democrat or Republican, they have reached a point at which they can be stampeded into voting for the expenditure of huge amounts of money without a clue why or to whom. Now it appears they are getting ready to “stimulate the economy” with a giant, political grab-bag in excess of a trillion dollars. Much like earlier efforts, it is likely to fail while at the same time plunging the nation into deeper and deeper...

Corruption Chronicles Only half of the members in the U.S. Senate committee that screens among the most important presidential cabinet nominees—Secretary of Homeland Security—bothered to show up for confirmation hearings this week and only two Republicans participated. Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee senators evidently had more important things to do than assure the right candidate will head the crucial agency that keeps the nation safe from foreign threats. Only nine of the panel’s 17 members found the time to ask Barack Obama’s Homeland Security Secretary pick—Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano—questions, making the so-called confirmation hearing somewhat laughable. This is embarrassing...

So all of us disgusted conservatives have some things to think about. There are those who say will we emerge stronger from this and blah, blah, blah. We've heard that before. Our party is in shambles, thanks to the RINO'S. The spirit of reaching across the aisle is responsible for this mess. So we kick out the RINO'S. How? They won't leave on their own. We expect these loosers to find a spine to defend our conservative values. They will not. Trust me, they haven't so far, they will not change. So now we are down to our real options. Either...

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- U.S. stock futures fell Tuesday as signs that consumers may be cutting back fanned recession worries. Two major retailers warned late Monday about a slowdown in sales. Target cut its forecast for September same-store sales growth, saying that weak traffic will hurt sales, particularly in Florida and the Northeast, two areas that have been hit by the slowdown in housing. Dear Friend, People who live in white houses shouldn't throw stones. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove should know better, but it's no surprise they don't. For almost five years now, every time they've got their backs to the wall politically, they play "the fear card." The latest example: Dick Cheney claiming that Democratic candidates who dare to challenge the Bush White House on Iraq are "emboldening terrorists." What's worse, and startling, is that in Connecticut Joe Lieberman is now echoing their intolerable rhetoric attacking the Democratic Senate nominee. It won't work. We won't let it work. HELP...

Military recruiters visited Tucson-area high schools more than 1,300 times in the 2004-05 school year, but, contrary to critics' charges, did not appear to target poor or minority students, according to an analysis by the Arizona Daily Star of recruiter activity at 21 schools. Community support for the military seemed a bigger driving factor in where recruiters go, with high schools in conservative suburbs such Oro Valley, Marana and Vail drawing more military visits than those in many other parts of the city. For example, Ironwood Ridge High School in Oro Valley, one of the most heavily Anglo and well-off...

SIERRA VISTA — For the second year in a row, Fort Huachuca will be the site of a protest by demonstrators who say the Intelligence Center on the post educates soldiers in torture procedures. According to an e-mail received by the Herald/Review, “The United States is responsible for using torture and training other governments in the most modern methods of torture.” That comment was part of the nexus organizers of this year’s protest outside the fort’s Main Gate implying torture is part of training at the Intelligence Center. Post officials have continually denied any torture procedures are taught at the...

Bad sportsmanship when losing is so ugly. Especially among adults. Especially in public. And no, this isn't another tirade about some sports players engaged in an ugly brawl; this is how poorly the liberals are reacting because instead of crowing over Bush's mistakes they are exposed as just wrong, wrong, wrong. A small sampling: John F. Kerry publicly stated that the Iraqi election results shouldn't be overhyped. Most of his fellow Democrats have uttered similar thoughts. Then there are those in the media with a known liberal tendency that they claim is merely objectivity. Peter Jennings is also downplaying the...

*AHEM* "According to the Electoral Count Act of 1887, one senator and one House Representative are required to contest an election prior to inauguration. We have the representatives. We still need a senator. Let Senator Boxer know that we want her to be that senator by signing our petition. The signed petitions will be delivered to her in person by a coalition of representatives from a variety of concerned organizations and individuals."

President Bush's unofficial margin of victory in Ohio is safe, after the remaining 10 counties in this battleground state finished ballot certification Wednesday and results showed there were fewer provisional ballots validated than the margin. Ohio's 88 counties reported validating 121,598 provisional ballots from 156,977 checked, according to an Associated Press tabulation. Bush's margin of victory on Nov. 2 was 136,483 votes. He received 2,796,147 votes to Kerry's 2,659,664. Kerry conceded after figuring that he would not get enough of the provisional ballot vote to overtake Bush's total. The state previously reported there were 155,337 provisional ballots statewide. Provisionals are...

tbuddha (299 posts) Wed Dec-01-04 11:44 AM Original message Here's a sneaky way to troll GOP blogs w/o them even knowing Post a link to optruth.org on their blogs with a message like "Support Our Troops!" and "Read the Latest from our Soldiers" or "See combat footage here from real soldiers". It's totally honest, and it will get repukes to read all the stories from soldiers about how they don't like Bush.

The DUmmies are so far gone into fantasy that it takes a very special thread to grab my attention in the auditioning process for the DUmmie Funnies. I believe I have found such a Dummie discussion so completely divorced from reality that it deserves to be honored with a DUmmie FUnnies edition. I therefore present to you this hallowed THREAD appropriately titled, “WE ARE GOING TO WIN THIS, I GUARANTEE YOU....” Yup! It’s an absolute guarantee that Kerry will enter the White House this January. Therefore as a public service I again list the Suicide Hotline number for the DUmmies...

Because they have nothing to offer by way of reform. It's time to let Democrats in on a little secret. America is a land of perpetual rebirth and reform--always has been. That's why George W. Bush gets a pass on whatever he did before he found Jesus and swore off drinking. And it's why Bill Clinton received the benefit of the doubt over his "youthful indiscretions" in 1992. And it is why John Kerry probably would have been given a pass on his anti-Vietnam War activities, if only he could plausibly claim to have seen the error in calling his...

I consider the DUmmies to be like my personal ant farm. Every day I look through my computer screen window at my DUmmie Ant Farm and they never disappoint. It is fascinating to stare at my DUmmie Ant Farm because they go though so many interesting variations. Some days the DUmmies are in a state of hilarious despair. Other days they act like drama queens. Since the election they often scream in helpless rage at the lousy deck of cards fate has dealt them. Today’s DUmmie FUnnies is one of the best in the FUN department as DUmmie mopaul describes...

(CNSNews.com) - Bloggers on the liberal Democratic Underground website have overwhelmingly labeled Nov. 3, 2004, the day after Election Day, "more depressing" than Sept. 11, 2001 in a poll of online members. Seventy-two percent of poll takers said they believed the day Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) conceded defeat in the presidential election was more tragic than the day more than 3,000 Americans were killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and on a hijacked plane that crashed in a Pennsylvania field. One member, "Big Blue Marble," said "I have...

"I'm not sure in the light of the last four years whether the Bush team have got the skills to heal a divided America. "Not only do we have a divided America but also we have a president who is highly polarising in his approach to world politics" FORMER FOREIGN SECRETARY, ROBIN COOK __________ "Almost all nations, with about three or four exceptions wanted a change. "There is a basic lack of understanding, which is lasting and deep, between the American people and the rest of the world and it goes in both directions. The world no longer understands very...
