A new manifestation of 'go woke, go broke,' this time hitting the Olympic medal count.
One by one, America’s made-for-TV stars fell short of expectations. Lindsey Vonn crashed. Chloe Kim fell. Mikaela Shiffrin struggled. The most shocking fumble of all came on Friday night when figure skater Ilia Malinin, the self-proclaimed “quad god,” melted down in the brutal heat of the Olympic spotlight.
It was merely the latest disappointment of an Olympics souring faster than burrata in the sun for Team USA, which is suddenly on track for its fewest winter golds since 1998.
What a coincidence -- not liking your country goes right there alongside not winning one's match.
This is why wokester statements about politics, Trump, not liking the results of the last election, hating ICE, are such a bad idea before the games are over.

There’s a lot of guilt by association in this article, like “he didn’t make any wokester comments himself” but he fell on his duff, so he must have been thinking bad thoughts.

The article is a bit of a joke and grasping at straws. I don’t remember hearing Mikaela Shiffrin, who’s skied in one event, or Ilia Malinin badmouthing America or President Trump (despite the quote they used for Shiffrin)...The American team is actually doing pretty well in the medal count the first week...
The athletes who did bad mouth President Trump or implied as much, are paying a heavy price as some of them, who have yet to compete, have had to shut down their social media accounts...
I gathered from the article the theory is he was distracted by
the distraction of the wokesters.
Not so much that he was in agreement.
We may never know..
That said, typically we do not do that well during the Winter Olympics.
So we are performing what is expected out of us.

the article is dead wrong- Malinin blew it last night yet to his credit admitted as much, blamed no one and took complete responsibility for his performance without uttering a world of politics or implying as much...
It was sad to see him fall yet refreshing to see a 21YO show great sportsmanship and take full responsibility...the article doesn’t point out the main culprits, except for Amber Glenn, and grasps at straws based 3 paragraphs from a WSJ article...
Good grief, was he running his mouth about politics too? I thought he was one of the ones who had the better sense not to yap about political stuff.
Several of them seem to know better. But the yappers sure do make a lot of noise.
