House Republicans are taking aim at the White House after President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, was left off the Marine One passenger list following a longstanding tradition of omitting him from other records such as its visitor logs. "The White House may not have helped that the president is keeping far away from Hunter's local woes," Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported Tuesday. "We were all just watching the First Family's return from Delaware on Marine One, and my colleague Peter Doocy noticed someone hop off the chopper who was not on the passenger list the White House...

Orbcomm, a major provider of ELDs to the trucking sector, is dealing with a ransomware attack that has limited the ability of its customers to use its Fleet Manager offering, which includes its Blue Tree ELD systems, the company has confirmed. Resolving the issue may take up to two weeks. (snip) In a notice to Orbcomm customers Wednesday, supplied to FreightWaves by an Orbcomm customer, the company said under the heading “Rebuild and Restore” that it is “targeting to restore full use of our BT product line and the supporting platforms as well as RCOM Reports by September 28.” The...

The Biden White House has repeatedly claimed they are the "most transparent administration in American history," but a Fox News Digital review found that the visitor logs from the beginning of the Biden administration through February 2023 have not included any of Hunter Biden’s White House visits or extended stays. Fox News Digital reviewed several articles to piece together Hunter Biden’s whereabouts during his dad’s administration and found that he has visited the White House over a dozen times through February 2023, the month accounted for in the most recent batch of visitor logs released last month. A majority of...

WASHINGTON — Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas pleaded ignorance Tuesday about the existence of logs recording who has visited President Biden’s Delaware homes — stunning lawmakers who have sought the information for months. Mayorkas, whose department includes the Secret Service, made his astounding “I don’t know” claim when Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) pressed him about a persistent lack of information following congressional requests. “I don’t know whether the Secret Service maintains visitor logs of the president’s residence,” the DHS chief said. “But if they do and those have been requested, we will comply with the law.” Biden regularly spends his...

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) is pressing the White House to release the visitor log for President Biden’s Delaware residence, as Republicans ratchet up their probe into the recent discovery of Obama-era classified documents from Biden’s time as vice president. “Given the serious national security implications, the White House must provide the Wilmington residence’s visitor log,” Comer wrote in a letter to Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain. Comer, who chairs the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, and other Republicans have ramped up their criticism after classified documents were found in unauthorized locations, including Biden’s Delaware home. Attorney General Merrick Garland...

The White House refused to disclose President Joe Biden’s visitor logs from his Delaware residence, where one trove of classified documents was found stashed in the garage. “Will the White House be reconsidering the decision not to release visitor log information from his Delaware residences?” the New York Post asked at a press briefing in January 2022. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki refused to release the logs. “A lot of presidents go visit their home when they are president. We also have gone a step further than the prior administration, and many administrations, in releasing visitor logs of...

Hunter Biden's top business partner had met with then-vice resident Joe Biden in one of 19 visits he made to the White House between 2009 and 2015, according to visitor logs from the Obama administration. Eric Schwerin, former president of Hunter's now-dissolved firm Rosemont Seneca, met with Biden on November 17, 2010, just as Hunter was striking multi-million dollar deals abroad, the New York Post reported. The logs revealed that Schwerin made a total of 19 visits to the White House during Biden's vice presidency, with nine of those visits including meetings with Biden, members of his staff and members...

OAKLAND — They mysteriously appeared about a year ago — dozens of logs the length of cars, plopped in front of industrial businesses in a two-block stretch along West Oakland’s Poplar Street, between West Grand Avenue and 18th Street. If the purpose behind the logs was to drive away the homeless who parked their RVs and other vehicles there, the strategy worked for the most part. City officials say the logs have prevented crews from cleaning up the two blocks, yet they’ve done little to get them removed: Councilmember Lynette Gibson McElhaney said she reached out to local business owners...

The White House has taken down online White House visitor logs and blamed Congress. The logs, which were posted beginning in December 2009 “as part of President Obama’s commitment to government transparency,” are the latest victims of a partial government shutdown that has temporarily idled 17 percent of the federal workforce. “Due to Congress’s failure to pass legislation to fund the government, the information on this web site may not be up to date. Some submissions may not be processed, and we may not be able to respond to your inquiries,” reads the index page for the visitor logs.

President Obama and his successors in the Oval Office are not obligated to make public the names of individuals visiting the White House, according to a decision of the federal Circuit Court for the District of Columbia made public Friday. The case was brought by Judicial Watch, the government watchdog nonprofit that has been fighting a long legal battle seeking to force release of the White House visitor logs as public records under the Freedom of Information Act. But in a decision that is drawing intense criticism from across the ideological spectrum, the circuit court said the president has a...

An interactive and searchable database of White House visitor logs is turning up some interesting findings and reveals a “steady stream of lobbyists” visiting the Obama White House, reports the Washington Post. For example, AFL-CIO lobbyist Bill Samuel visited the White House over 50 times, and American Civil Liberties Union lobbyist Laura Murphy visited almost as frequently. By comparison, Speaker of the House John Boehner has only visited the White House 23 times.

SEOUL - South Korean security authorities were ready to carry out on-board inspections of a Bahama-registered freighter after being tipped off that the ship might carry some members of Al-Qaeda, police said on Thursday. The 17,000-tonne freighter, the Athenia, which was suspected of carrying members of Osama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda group, was due to arrive at the southwestern port of Kunsan late Thursday, the police said. “We have been informed that Al Qaeda members might be hiding in the ship,” a police officer in charge of foreign affairs in Kunsan Police station told AFP. “When the ship reaches the...

Well, I’ve just finished scouring the White House visitor logs. Regular readers know I seem to be one of the few in the media who actually does such a thing. Regular readers also know that I’ve pointed out time and again that the logs are incomplete, misleading, obtuse, and designed to make it as difficult as possible to figure out who has visited and when. So, it is no surprise that neither director Tim Burton nor actor Johnny Depp — hosts of the big 2009 Hollywood Halloween bash at the White House — show up in the visitor logs. At...

Just like clockwork, the Obama administration never misses an opportunity to unload thousands of records it hopes no one will ever bother sifting through during the holidays. On Black Friday, the White House released more visitor log info — trumpeting disclosures it has fought tooth and nail. I’ve started looking through the data. And you can, too, right here:

Judging by the list of journalists he's met with while serving as White House chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel won't have any trouble attracting media attention for his campaign to be mayor of Chicago. The transparency watchdog Sunlight Foundation reviewed the White House visitor's logs and found a long list of journalists who sat down with Emanuel for some face time. Sunlight's Paul Blumenthal notes that while most of Emmanuel's interactions with the press were likely by phone or e-mail, the list of reporters who've met him in person is extensive.

Bravery isn't the first word that comes to mind when looking at these images of a Japanese log-rolling ceremony. But that is exactly what these young men are apparently proving during the bizarre Ki-otoshi ceremony, where they ride the giant logs as they are yanked down steep hills by ropes. Skidding and bumping over the rough terrain, at times the logs literally drop down the steep inclines

The White House filed a challenge last week to a U.S. District Court ruling that Secret Service visitor logs for the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney's residence are public documents. Judge Royce C. Lamberth ruled that these records can be released to the public under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). This was in response to a lawsuit brought by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), a nonpartisan, liberal-leaning nonprofit organization, to obtain information about the visits of nine conservative leaders, including James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Gary Bauer of American Values and Wendy...

Medical logs of past state executions showed that some patients might have been conscious during the lethal injection procedure because the sedatives were mixed by prison staffers with no medical background, an anesthesiologist testified Wednesday. Dr. Mark Heath of Columbia University also testified that records from San Quentin State Prison executions show that some of the drugs taken from the prison pharmacy that weren't used went missing. "For each execution, there's 15 vials missing," Heath said during the second day of court hearings challenging California's lethal injection method. He added, "There were errors in mixing drugs." The hearing was called...
