'Smoking Gun' Clinton Tape Released to Public By Fred Lucas CNSNews.com Staff Writer June 22, 2007 (CNSNews.com) - The video described in a civil suit as "smoking gun" evidence that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) committed felonies became available on the Internet Friday. On the tape the former first lady and leading Democratic presidential contender is heard speaking in 2000 with Hollywood mogul Peter Paul, comic book icon Stan Lee, and director Aaron Tonkin about a massive fundraising event for her 2000 Senate race. Paul spent about $2 million of his own money to produce the event but later had a...

FORMER PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON ON NOT CAPTURING BIN LADEN: 'At least I tried. That's the difference between me and some, including all the right wingers. They ridicule me for trying. They had eight months to try, they did not try. I tried. So I tried and failed'...

In our urgency to deal with really urgent stuff over the past few weeks, we have been piling up news articles regarding what some regard as a universal urgency. That would be global warming or Global Warming or GLOBAL WARMING, depending on one's perspective, provided that one has a perspective. Bill Clinton, speaking last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that mother of all junkets for rich folks who take themselves very seriously, said that GLOBAL WARMING bothered him a bunch. "It's the only thing that I believe has the power to fundamentally end the march of...

This is an edited repost of an article I wrote two years ago on the anniversary of Clinton's impeachment. First, an excerpt from a report from that most excellent day seven years ago: A while later the first article of impeachment passed the House ! Being that we had spread out along the avenue by that time, we sought each other out to cheer the good news. We then gathered at the Swamp to inform the WH press corps that "The Constitution lives !" and that it was "a great day to be an American !" During the next hour...

CONTRARY to expectations that he would be giving some prominent people sleepless nights, it would be a more religious, more media-shy Mark Jimenez who will be coming home on Tuesday after nearly two years in a US federal prison, friends said yesterday. "He would like to devote his time to God's words," one of the friends told the Inquirer. But that doesn't mean Jimenez would be all forgiving, the friend indicated. Except Nani "He has said he has already forgiven all those who have crossed him, except Nani," he said, referring to former Justice Secretary Hernando Perez whom Jimenez...

Iran admits to UN it bought designs for nuclear bomb (Filed: 19/11/2005) Iran has admitted obtaining designs that could help it make a nuclear bomb, the United Nations nuclear watchdog said yesterday in a confidential report. After more than two years of investigations, it is the closest that inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency have come to linking Teheran's electricity generation project with an alleged weapons programme. The discovery will raise tensions before next week's meeting of the IAEA board of governors, which will debate whether to report Iran to the UN Security Council for possible sanctions. The IAEA...

A documentary by US film-maker Kelly Duda, has fresh evidence of Arkansas prison officials selling infected blood products collected from inmates with AIDS during the administration of former governor Bill Clinton. The film, titled “Factor 8: The Arkansas Prison Blood Scandal,” will be shown at the American Film Institute Festival in Los Angeles on November 8. Duda spent almost ten years researching the story of the tragic blood policy in Arkansas’ prison system that led to thousands of hemophiliacs world-wide being infected with both AIDS and hepatitis. The contaminated blood was used to manufacture clotting agents for hemophiliacs and exported...

Last Sunday, former FBI director Louis Freeh told 60 Minutes viewers that he believes President Bill Clinton in essence sold out the family members of the American victims who died in the terrorist attack against Saudi Arabia's Khobar Towers. According to Freeh, during Clinton's talks with Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, Clinton was more interested in soliciting contributions for the Clinton Library project than in seeking justice. But apparently Clinton isn't the only one in his former administration who profited from decisions that placed self-interest ahead of national security. It seems as if no day is complete without some Al...

WASHINGTON — The State Department warned the Clinton administration in July 1996 that Usama bin Laden's (search) move to Afghanistan would give him more fertile ground to spread radical Islam, according to newly declassified documents. The documents, released by the legal advocacy group Judicial Watch on Wednesday, say that bin Laden would feel comfortable moving from Sudan to Afghanistan, which "has become an even more desirable location for extremists. Afghanistan may be an ideal haven as long as bin Laden can continue to run his businesses and financial networks."

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 - State Department analysts warned the Clinton administration in July 1996 that Osama bin Laden's move to Afghanistan would give him an even more dangerous haven as he sought to expand radical Islam "well beyond the Middle East," but the government chose not to deter the move, newly declassified documents show.

Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer said the small intelligence unit, called "Able Danger," had identified Atta and three of the other future Sept. 11 hijackers as al-Qaida members by mid-2000. He said military lawyers stopped the unit from sharing the information with the FBI. The commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks left the Able Danger claims out of its official report. In an interview with Fox News Channel and The New York Times, Shaffer said the panel was not given all the information his team had gathered. "I'm told confidently by the person who did move the material over that the...

Ex-president Bill Clinton now says he would have taken out Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks – if only the FBI and CIA had been able to prove the al-Qaida mastermind was behind the attack on the U.S.S. Cole. "I desperately wish that I had been president when the FBI and CIA finally confirmed, officially, that bin Laden was responsible for the attack on the U.S.S. Cole," Clinton tells New York magazine this week. "Then we could have launched an attack on Afghanistan early." "I don’t know if it would have prevented 9/11," he added. "But it certainly would...

On November 21, William J. Bennett, conservative author and nationally syndicated radio host, falsely claimed six times that former President Bill Clinton committed "perjury" or a "felony" for lying under oath. Bennett appeared on FOX Broadcasting Company's FOX News Sunday opposite Robert B. Reich, former Clinton administration Labor secretary, to discuss Clinton's legacy three days after the November 18 opening of the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. As Media Matters for America has noted, the Senate acquitted Clinton on both articles of impeachment, one of which was perjury. In order for a lie under oath to amount to...
