The vice president then began singing the praises of Kaunda, a brutal socialist dictator allied with the Soviet Union, who had banned opposing political parties and ran as the only candidate for president until he was finally ousted, and praised Zambia’s “democracy”. Kaunda, whom Kamala fondly recalled meeting with JFK and MLK “to discuss peaceful forms of protest” had demanded nuclear weapons from LBJ. Hichilema, who had narrowly survived being arrested by a previous regime, had nothing to say about Kamala’s fond memories of Zambian democracy. Or the “peaceful forms of protest” carried on with nuclear missiles and terrorism. But...

SEATTLE - It’s been nearly one week now since protesters took over a six-block stretch of Capitol Hill in a move to amplify the Black Lives Matter movement and push for police reform and defunding. On Sunday, one of the busiest days at “CHOP,” or Capitol Hill Organized/Occupied Protest, the community and the intrigue both continued to grow with huge crowds showing up to check out the gathering that’s created national buzz. For those who live nearby, “CHOP” is a new part of their daily lives. “It’s been super peaceful,” said Lindsey Teschner. “Everyone has been really nice. They get...

Jeff Burnside, the investigative reporter who was fired several months ago from NBC owned WTVJ, has landed a job with Seattle’s KOMO. WTVJ fired Burnside for placing an edited version of George Zimmerman‘s 911 call in his story about the Trayvon Martin case. Martin was the 17-year-old who was shot while walking through a gated community near Orlando. George Zimmerman faces second-degree murder charges in the case. Burnside is now the Seattle ABC affiliate’s senior investigative reporter.

Seattle radio talkmeister extraordinaire John Carlson started turning up the heat on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Project Gunrunner scandal Monday during the final hour of his morning broadcast, taking specific aim at major news organizations for not covering the story. Carlson, perhaps the Jet City’s most recognizable conservative talk host and commentator currently on the air, and whose father was a police officer, is also questioning how it was that Border Patrol agents working with slain agent Brian Terry last Dec. 14 were armed with beanbag rounds when they confronted several suspects ten miles from Nogales...

KOMO Radio said the fire in an electrical vault about 11 p.m. Thursday forced the evacuation of the building and caused the sprinkler system to activate. The fire and water damage knocked out a large data center in the building that handles many Seattle-based web sites. Authorize.net, which handles credit card transactions for tens of thousands of e-commerce vendors, is one of...

Somebody at Seattle's KOMO-TV sure doesn't like Matt Drudge. After linking to a photo at KOMO's website, the station had the image changed from one of an illegal drug/alien/terrorist smuggling tunnel between Lynden, Washington and British Columbia, to this:

What's happening to talk radio in the Puget Sound area? Tonight's fresh ratings data for the Seattle-Tacoma market doesn't bode well for the format. Soon after the data's release, the Radio Equalizer was already hearing from readers, who thought these declines really jumped off the page. Liberal, conservative, it just didn't matter from Arbitron's perspective: Lattleland seems to be suffering from talk radio fatigue.
