Dead or alive? Probably the latter, but no one knows for certain what, if anything, happened to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un that made him vanish from the public eye since April 12. Kim is said to be recovering from a failed angioplasty operation to insert a stent into a blocked coronary artery. The obese Kim weighs more than 300 lbs, stands 172 cm tall and relentlessly smokes up to four packs of cigarettes a day, sources reveal. Daily NK, a website run by North Korean defectors in Seoul, claims Kim has had to deal with cardiovascular disease since August...

The development is a surprise because Kim Yo Jong, who became an alternate member of the Politburo last year, was widely expected to receive a full bureau membership during a ruling Workers’ Party congress that ended Tuesday. A Politburo membership is viewed as crucial for high-level officials hoping to thrive in Kim Jong Un’s government because he’s made key decisions at bureau meetings, including the 2013 move to execute his powerful uncle Jang Song Taek, and the 2012 purge of military chief Ri Yong Ho. When the eight-day congress, the first of its kind since 2016, opened last week, Kim...

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un’s sister could be the Hermit Kingdom’s most brutal leader if she succeeds him, experts told The Post on Monday. Kim Yo Jong, 32, appeared poised to take the reins of power amid a claim that her older brother has been in a coma for months and his recent public appearances have been staged. “I haven’t seen any evidence, any indication of how she might rule, but my speculation — given the reputation and history of the family — is that she would rule with an iron fist,” retired US Army Col. David Maxwell said.

Kim Yo-jong, sister to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, published a poorly written “press statement” Friday praising Kim’s relationship with President Donald Trump, rejecting further summits between them, and requesting DVD copies of Fourth of July celebration footage. Kim Yo-jong’s statement appeared to be a response to speculation triggered by leftist South Korean President Moon Jae-in that Trump and her brother may soon host another summit to ease tensions between the two countries, which have technically been at war for 70 years. During the course of publicizing his book against Trump, former National Security Advisor John Bolton also hinted at...

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has fallen into a coma, a former South Korean official is claiming on the heels of reports that the northern leader has ceded over some of his power to his younger sister. Chang Song-min, a former aide to late-South Korean president Kim Dae-jung, has alleged that the Hermit Kindom’s honcho has become seriously ill amid speculation about his limited public appearances this year, the Mirror reported. “I assess him to be in a coma, but his life has not ended,” he told South Korean media. The former aide added that the leader’s younger sister,...

KIM JONG-UN's sister is taking a leading role in a new, more hard-line pressure campaign against South Korea - highlighting what analysts say is a substantive policy role that goes beyond being her brother's assistant. Believed to be in her early 30s, Kim Yo Jong is the only close relative of the North Korean leader to play a public role in politics. Kim Yo Jung has moved to the forefront since her brother’s mysterious disappearance last month. And now she has unleashed a brutal attack on neighbours South Korea, just after the rogue state severed contact with Seoul. Kim Yo-jong's...

North Korea has axed its spy chief as well as the long-running head of Kim Jong Un’s security — signs of a major shakeup during the ongoing mystery over the dictator’s status. Jang Kil Song was ousted as head of the Reconnaissance General Bureau (RGB), the North’s military intelligence agency, according to the Korea Herald, citing a report by South Korea’s Unification Ministry. The RGB is behind the Hermit Kingdom’s most high-profile attacks as well as spy missions, including those against the US, the report says.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is reportedly in “grave danger” following surgery, CNN reported on Monday evening, citing an anonymous U.S. official with direct knowledge of the situation. There have been rumors of the dictator’s declining health in recent days, after he reportedly missed the country’s most important political holiday last week — the birthday celebration of Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-un’s grandfather and founder of the communist tyranny. NBC’s Kathy Tur sparked further speculation after deleting a tweet citing two U.S. officials who purportedly claimed that the authoritarian is “brain dead.” “North Korean leader Kim ing Un is brain dead,...

Speculation about health builds after Kim misses key event honouring country’s founder, Kim Il-sung... Kim Jong-un underwent heart surgery earlier this month and is recovering at his private villa, according to a South Korean report, with US media citing officials as saying the North Korean leader was in “grave danger” after the procedure. If accurate, the surgery claim, made by the Daily NK website, would explain Kim’s absence from an event to mark the anniversary of the birth of his grandfather – and the country’s founder – Kim Il-sung. Comparisons between Ivanka Trump, Kim Jong Un’s sister are sickening – Media can’t decide which way to lean Ivanka Trump is in South Korea for the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games and, inevitably, she is being compared to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, who attended the opening ceremonies. The disgusting fawning over Kim Yo Jong at the start of the Olympics exposed a truth about much of America’s mainstream media: any enemy of President Trump will be showered in praise. It didn’t matter than Kim Jong Un is a brutal despot who is...

Vice President Pence said Wednesday that he deliberately ignored North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s sister last week in order to send “a very clear message” during the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies. Mr. Pence and his wife were photographed standing just a few feet from Kim Yo-jong on Friday amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and the dictatorial regime. Asked during an Axios event in Washington whether he gave any consideration to greeting Ms. Kim, the vice president responded, “I did not.”

Her name is Kim Yo Jong and she’s the belle of the ball at the Winter Olympics in South Korea. She’s young, attractive, confident, and the kid sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. You wouldn’t think they were related, as he embodies the physicality of a manatee and she looks ready to anchor the 6 o’clock news. But they are the same person. She is a true believer in the same cruel, oppressive ideology, and she has proven to be a talented soldier for the same cause. Thought by some to be the real brains of the operation,...
