'Kim Yong Chol', known as the leader’s most trusted policy adviser, lost his Worker’s Party post as head of relations with South Korea earlier this month and was replaced by Jang Kum Chol, according to Lee Hye-hoon, the head of the South Korean parliament's intelligence committee.

'Kim Yong Chol' also did not accompany the North Korean leader on his trip to Russia on Wednesday for his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.....Kim Yong Chol was North Korea's longtime spy chief.

News about Kim’s sudden replacement also comes a week after reports emerged that Kim Jong Un may have demoted his younger sister, Kim Yo Jong. Rumors about her possible demotion began when her name did not appear in state media coverage of public events attended by the North’s ruling party’s authoritative politburo,

Little is known about Kim Yong Chol’s replacement, who is reportedly in his late 50s, Yonhap News Agency reported.

It’s a revocation of imputed concessions to/cooperation with the US. In my opinion.

Not that anyone had more than a 10% expectation of results from Nork negotiations. But thank the Democrat assault on Trump for wiping out that narrow window of oppty.

Sounds like the Russians and the Red Chinese have informed Kim that they do not want any denuclearization of NK. Not optimistic about further negotiations with NK. Hope I’m proven wrong.

“revocation of imputed concessions “
Possible, that’s one reason it is done.

But sometimes a change is made for a change and not for diplomatic shenanigans.

I think probably so.....but we know it’s not unusual they end up gone altogether. Even his sister has been downsized so there’s some shifts going on.

I think ol’ Kim wants to call the shots as he works with the US, Russia and China....he wants a deal and he’s going to dislodge those who can’t carry that ball. What kind of deal will know soon enough. I suspect he wants SAnctions loosened because they’re holding up a lot of the deals with South Korea Kim wants to see happen.

I won’t be surprised if this meeting with Putin this week ends up a productive one....Putin wants access to rare minerals/metals in NKorea. And Kim wants Putin to build his infrastructure.

Rocket Man needs to understand how negotiations like these work: He makes some kind of helpful gesture and we ease one of the sanctions in place. Then he makes another helpful move and we ease a little more.and so it goes, back and forth. We don't remove all sanctions just because he says he might destroy his nukes.

In the overall scheme of things, North Korea doesn’t matter.

To live, Kim must be persuaded to comply with american requests and immeasurably benefit from that action. Kim is a nothing standing in the way of the big boys
