Facebook and Facebook-owned Instagram have suspended the accounts of former Marine Corps Sergeant John Tiegen, a survivor of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack against U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya that were overrun by militants of the since-dissolved terrorist group Ansar al-Sharia. Other than notifying Tiegen that he had somehow violated the platform’s “community standards,” Facebook did not explain why it disabled his account.
