Spoke to a person today with knowledge of the WaPo authors: Devlin Barrett and Josh Dorsey, who said they were inserting this sentence today without any sourcing, entirely made up, as a poke in the eye to President Trump. They were noted "laughing about the plan": “People with knowledge of the investigation said it could last at least another year and members of Mueller’s team have told others they expect to be working through much of 2018, at the minimum.” @NatashaBertrand
