  • Jason Lewis sets record straight on DC ‘swamp,’ Trump and ‘cancel culture’ media

Jason Lewis wanted to finish what he started. His time in Congress was cut short, one of more than 20 casualties of the Trump midterms, when Democrats picked up a net total of over 40 seats in the House. One of his regrets: he didn’t fight back hard enough. That’s why he wrote “Party Animal: The Truth About President Trump, Power Politics and the Partisan Press.” “Yet no one defied these rules more than Donald Trump. And so did I. But not nearly enough. This book is an attempt to finish the job and tell the real side of the...

Guest Piece by America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart Confession: I rarely watch conservative, or so-called conservative, news sites. You can get some information that way, but I find it much more instructive to watch the reactions of liberals to the stories of the day. That is an instant indicator of who is winning and losing. For example, if the Washington Post says “Trump must change tone or face loss,” you know that Trump’s tone is deadly effective. Or, if Politico headlines “Some Senator Say McConnell Moving Too Fast on Barrett Nomination,” you know that Yertle is moving at light speed...

Senator Tina Smith (D-Minn.) is in a statistical dead heat with her GOP challenger Jason Lewis less than two weeks before Election Day, according to a new poll. A SurveyUSA poll released Wednesday shows Smith leading Lewis, a former congressman whose candidacy has been endorsed by President Donald Trump, by only 1 percent. It found that 43 percent of voters favored Smith compared to 42 percent for Lewis. Another 12 percent said they were undecided, while 3 percent said they would vote for a third party candidate. Smith's lead is well within the poll's 5 percent margin of error.
  • GOP challenger claims Omar has repeatedly canceled debates [ Minnesota - Republican Lacy Johnson ]

The incumbents in every other congressional district have debated their opponents, with the exception of Rep. Betty McCollum. U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Republican challenger claimed that the first-term congresswoman has repeatedly backed out of forums and debates, making her one of the only incumbents who hasn’t participated in a debate. Republican Lacy Johnson called on Omar to agree to a debate before the Nov. 3 election in a statement issued this week. “Representative Omar’s entire time spent in Congress, in addition to her candidacy, has been plagued with scandal. Recently questions have been raised surrounding her campaign engaging in criminal...

The race for the Senate is real in Minnesota. Former Rep. Jason Lewis, who lost his suburban House seat in the Democratic wave election cycle of 2018, has returned, this time for a Senate seat in Minnesota, challenging incumbent Democratic Sen. Tina Smith. “When I started thinking about 2020, I knew 2018 was an outlier," Lewis told the Washington Examiner. "Those blue-collar Democrats, the working men and women who built this state and this country that helped almost give President Trump a victory here in 2016, did not vote with the same enthusiasm that they did in 2016." Lewis explained...
  • Minnesota Senate candidate says 'crazy' urban liberals driving people to Trump, could flip state red [Jason Lewis]

President Trump could flip Minnesota — a state that has been blue since 1972 — because of a mishandled coronavirus response and continuing civil unrest in Democrat-run cities, GOP Senate candidate Jason Lewis said Saturday. The former congressman is battling incumbent Democrat Tina Smith in a Senate race that Real Clear Politics recently moved from “leaning Democrat” to “toss-up.” “It’s sort of a microcosm of the entire country. As the urban liberals become a little bit more crazy, it drives everybody else into Trump country and red country,” Lewis said on “Fox & Friends Weekend.” […] With the election less...

I laughed when I saw The Washington Post headline: "Minneapolis had progressive policies, but its economy still left black families behind." The media are so clueless. Instead of "but," the headline should have said, "therefore," or "so, obviously." Of course, progressive policies failed! They almost always do. "If you wanted a poster child for the progressive movement, it would be Minneapolis," says Republican Minnesota Senate candidate Jason Lewis in my new video. "This is the same city council that voted to abolish the police department." The council, which has no Republicans, spends taxpayer money on most every progressive idea. They...

The Minnesota Democratic leadership who created a "powder keg" of chaos in their state needs to be held accountable for their negligent policy, former Republican Congressman Jason Lewis urged Saturday. In an interview on "Fox & Friends Weekend" with host Pete Hegseth, Lewis said Minnesotans were left in a "state of shock" over the "total absence of leadership" in their cities. The third night of protests over the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, at the hands of a 48-year-old white Minneapolis Police Officer, Derek Chauvin, turned even more violent on Friday evening with rioters destroying police vehicles,...

Former Congressman Jason Lewis announced Thursday morning he is running for the U.S. Senate in 2020. Lewis, a Republican who lost his 2018 re-election bid to represent the 2nd Congressional District, will try to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Tina Smith. In his announcement, though, he targeted Rep. Ilhan Omar, the Democrat from Minneapolis who has been repeatedly criticized by President Donald Trump, just as much as Smith. “We are at a crossroads in Minnesota and across this country not seen since the chaos and turmoil of the 1960’s,” Lewis said in his announcement. “llhan Omar, with Senator Tina Smith marching...

I don’t like bullies. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a piece pushing back against Andrew Kaczynski and the rest of CNN’s KFile unit, which has made a mission of taking out certain Republicans. Townhall published the piece, in which I defended David Clarke, Monica Crowley and Congressman Jason Lewis from CNN’s attacks. But Townhall immediately removed it after CNN’s Kaczynski said my claims were incorrect.

Andrew Kaczynski and the rest of CNN’s so-called KFile unit ought to count their reporting as direct campaign contributions to Democrats.Last year, in falsely accusing Sheriff David Clarke and Monica Crowley of plagiarism when the Trump administration was considering them for positions, CNN omitted the authors’ footnotes, which contained the source attributions. As Steven Brill, the founder of Court TV and lecturer at the Yale English department, told the Yale Daily News in 2007: “Plagiarism is when you steal someone’s words and you don’t attribute it to that person.” He went on to address the case of Yale Law School professor Ian Ayres, who copied large chunks of writing without quote...

Republican Rep. Jason Lewis has repeatedly demeaned recipients of welfare and government assistance, calling them "parasites" and "scoundrels," and said the black community had "traded one plantation for another." Lewis made the comments on a conservative radio show he hosted, "The Jason Lewis Show," from 2009 to 2012. CNN's KFile previously reported that Lewis made racist comments about African-Americans and lamented not being able to call women "sluts" on his program.

Republican Rep. Jason Lewis told Fox News he has contacted the police over threats to him and even his daughters in the wake of reports about controversial statements he made as a radio show host. "It was serious enough for my office to alert the Capitol Police," Lewis told Fox News. The Minnesota congressman said his daughters were threatened in sick messages received by his office. It marks the latest in a wave of threats against not just Republican lawmakers themselves but their families. Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., also revealed threats against his daughters this month, telling Todd Starnes that...

The journalistic hounds at CNN have a new target, a politician whose sin is so egregious – so unthinkable – that it can hardly be spoken aloud: the recently elected congressman from Minnesota disagrees with CNN orthodoxy on race. And now, with enthusiasm we have not seen since hordes of reporters descended on Rick Perry's boyhood hunting grounds where they found a 30-year-old racial expletive written under a rock, CNN has set out to punish Congressman Jason Lewis. The sins of the congressman were easy to ferret out. They came during a stint as a talk show host in Minneapolis...

A Republican congressman from Minnesota has a long history of making deeply misogynistic comments on the radio, including lamenting that women can no longer be called "sluts." CNN's KFile reviewed several months of audio from Rep. Jason Lewis on the "Jason Lewis Show," a syndicated radio program Lewis hosted from 2009 until 2014 with the tagline "America's Mr. Right." In one instance, while arguing that "young single women" vote based on coverage of birth control pills, Lewis said those women were not human beings and were without brains. Lewis, who was narrowly elected to represent Minnesota's 2nd District in 2016,...

Desperate Democrat Angie Craig is accusing Jason Lewis of justifying rape and slavery. Rarely has an electorate been subject to such a brazen and transparent example of raw political ambition and outright duplicity than those unfortunate souls living in Minnesota’s second congressional district. While the race for the hotly contested open seat, which covers the southern half of the Twin Cities metro region and areas to its southeast, remains a “toss up” between Republican Jason Lewis and Democrat Angie Craig, according to the Cook Political Report — it has been the campaign of Craig and her Democrat surrogates at the...

St. Cloud is still reeling from the stabbing of nine people on Sept. 17. The terrorist yelled “Allahu akbar!” as he attacked shoppers at the Crossroads Center mall. A bombing in New York City left 29 people wounded. The Cascade Mall in Burlington, Wash., was next, with five people shot to death. While investigations are still ongoing, all of the attacks are likely to be similarly-motivated and perpetrated by Muslim immigrants. Similar deadly attacks have included the Boston Marathon bombings, the Chattanooga and Little Rock military recruiting office attacks, San Bernardino, and earlier this year the Orlando nightclub shooting. Minnesota’s...

The Conservative talker quit his show during the middle of his program 7/31. “The Jason Lewis Show” is syndicated by Genesis Communications. Lewis spent a decade at KSTP-AM in the Twin Cities before leaving the station in 2003 for a job at WBT in Charlotte. He returned to the Twin Cities in 2006 for a job at KTLK. Lewis’ show was syndicated in 2009. His flagship was Clear Channel’s KTLK. “He told me two months ago he intended to retire Aug. 1,” Mike Crusham, president and market manager of CCME Minneapolis/St. Paul told The St. Paul Pioneer Press. “He decided...
