On March 24, Cara Sullivan went on The Jason Lewis Show to discuss the importance of criminal justice reforms, which include mandatory minimum sentencing reform, criminal intent requirements within the law, provisional licensing and the pervasiveness of overcriminalization in America. Cara is the director of ALEC’s Justice Performance Project, which works to highlight the need for reforms within our criminal justice system and recently produced the report, “Criminalizing America – How Big Government Makes a Criminal of Every American.” Listen below to Cara’s hour-long segment on The Jason Lewis Show:

When the gasohol governor marches into Iowa and says that ethanol's subsidy days are numbered because "we simply can't afford them," you know the times they are a-changin'. Tim Pawlenty's courage may have been borne of necessity, but nonetheless, it is in stark contrast to Newt Gingrich, who went to Des Moines and got on bended knee in front of the Renewable Fuels Association. Or for that matter, Al Gore, who not long ago admitted that the only reason he supported ethanol in Iowa was to secure the presidency. Profiles in courage they're not. But now, a bipartisan majority in...

The disconnect between the way government and private enterprise conduct business is never more evident than during hard times. Private-sector employees see their wages and benefits frozen, or in some cases permanently cut. Doing similar things in the public sector brings howls of protest to state capitols everywhere. So in Minnesota, we merely "delay" payments promised to all the beneficiaries of state spending. Now the empire is striking back, demanding reimbursement for deferred monies. Which explains why our state budget is $5 billion in the red even though revenues for the next biennium are going up. That's right: If we...

I was just curious if you wouldn't mind giving your opinion(s) on which new book by which author Jason Lewis or Dr. Michael Savage(on at the same time) I should read. The books are called Power Divided is Power Checked and Trickle-up Poverty.

Q: Why is Howie Carr walking into the WRKO studios very slowly today? A: Well, there's no Rush... *That groaner, which neatly sums up the big radio news this week from eastern MASSACHUSETTS, comes to us courtesy of fellow radio observer (and WMWM weekend host) Bob Nelson, who's been as absorbed as anyone in the long saga of Clear Channel's launch of a new talk radio station in Boston. After spending many years and many hundreds of thousands of dollars moving suburban WKOX (1200 Framingham) into Boston, Clear Channel initially moved fairly slowly on changing the AM station's format, leaving...

Jason Lewis, former drive time host of Charlotte’s WBT radio and current host on KTLK in Minneopolis when not filling in for Rush Limbaugh, will be in Charlotte on Friday, March 5, for a luncheon honoring SC-5 Congressional candidate Sen. Mick Mulvaney. The lunch is scheduled for noon at the Greek Isles Restaurant at 200 East Bland Street, Charlotte. There is no charge to attend, though a $15 lunch will be served. Mulvaney currently occupies the 16th district Senate seat in South Carolina and is running for Congress against Democrat Rep. John Spratt who has held the seat since 1983....

Expect Premiere to announce Jason’s addition to the weekday lineup as soon as today. In fact I believe the KTLK-FM, Minneapolis afternoon host will also start today, based on his own comments last week. Jason spent a decade at Hubbard’s KSTP (1500) in Minneapolis, did three years at WBT-AM/FM, Charlotte (1110/99.3) before repatriating to the Twin Cities, this time at Clear Channel-owned conservative-talk KTLK-FM (100.3). He’s filled in for Rush Limbaugh and done guest shots on NBC’s Today Show, CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC and CNBC. His KTLK-FM bio says he enjoys the lighter side of radio, too – he...

I couldn't find this online anywhere yet, but on the Jason Lewis radio show tonight he announced that as of next week he's going national with Premier Radio Networks. Isn't that the home of Rush, Sean and Glenn Beck? From a fellow Minnesotan I say congrats Jason!

AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name...

The Minnesota Tax Cut Coalition held its annual rally at the State Capitol on Saturday, drawing a crowd of about 1,000 people demanding that legislators stop "wasteful'' spending and allow Minnesotans to keep more of their paychecks. Government funding to support light rail transit, the social safety net and the Twins ballpark were among the targets of complaints among the crowd, which spilled across the Capitol lawn.

Tonight marks the return of "Minnesota's Mr. Right", Jason Lewis, to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Listen to Jason from 5-7 CDT on KTLK-FM, 100.3FM. After almost three years away from "Radio Free Minnesota" he arrives at a critical time for Minnesota politics. I'll wager he'll be tougher on MN Republicans than he'll be on the Dems. If you aren't in the local listening area, tune in on the web:http://www.ktlkfm.com/main.html And please join in here to welcome Jason back to Minnesota
