We say happy birthday to the Grand Old Party, the GOP, or, the Republican Party. The birth of the party happened in Ripon, Wisconsin, on this day in 1854. The new party was formed by former members of the Whig Party to oppose the spread of slavery into the western territories. In my case, I became a de facto Republican after the Kennedy administration fumbled The Bay of Pigs invasion.

Left-wing host of “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah, raised eyebrows when he slammed President Biden over reports that leaders in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) refused to take calls from the White House. Noah suggested that under former President Donald Trump, nobody would have dared ignore such phone calls. “Look, I know it’s hard to arrange those calls. You know, Riyadh is eight hours ahead, Biden is asleep by 4 p.m., it’s a narrow window to make it work,” Noah quipped.

RNC Building ‘Army’ of GOP Poll Workers After Decades-Long Court-Ordered Hiatus The Republican National Committee is ramping up presence at the polls this year by enlisting thousands of workers ahead of the midterms, an operation it legally could not run for 40 years prior to 2018. “If elections are the cornerstone of democracy, then transparent and secure elections are one of the most important offerings that the RNC can have,” RNC spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez told Breitbart News. “And it happens to be the first cycle that we can get involved and stand up this operation the way that RNC chairwoman...

Democrats are dusting off a familiar strategy to advance key pieces of President Joe Biden's agenda through the evenly divided Senate over Republican objections. In doing so, they hope to pressure Republicans to finally support their effort to take up the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. And Democrats' past success employing the strategy to compel Republicans to cooperate with them suggests that their plan could work again this time.Republicans have twice prevented the Senate from taking up the voting rights bill by filibustering it. The bill's supporters have called for changing the Senate rules to prevent a minority...

I am running for Republican Precinct Chairman for Precinct 13 in Gillespie County, Texas, so I thought I’d write a little bio that is relevant to that objective. Summary of qualities for the position: --A lifetime history of activism defending life, liberty, and the Constitution; --Involvement in the Republican Party (excepting 1998?) since I was 18; --Proven record of opposing the Republican establishment when that is necessary. I am 57 years old, a Christian, have 8 home-schooled children, have been an activist in conservative and Christian causes since middle school. I’ve been active in the Republican party since I was...

In today’s polarized political climate, Americans nervously anticipate U.S. Supreme Court rulings with the same fervor with which they enjoy sports, and with the same goal in mind: namely, to win. But American government is not a game, cautions United States Court of Appeals Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton. By forcing the Supreme Court to make notably divisive, winner-take-all decisions, he argues, we run the risk of politicizing the “crown jewel of American government.” No one at the American founding took the view that the U.S. Supreme Court should resolve the most difficult issues in American government or be the key...

Between Pandemic Panic Theater and the real threat of the crime wave sweeping across San Francisco, most would assume Mayor London Breed would be burning the midnight oil trying to find solutions to the plethora of problems her constituents face. They would assume this because most do not know the real London Breed, a social justice partier who would never let her city’s problems get in the way of her nightlife. Lindsey Graham urged police officers to use their guns during the January 6th riot at the Capitol, pressing them to “take back the Senate!” The quotes, since confirmed to Fox News by the senator’s office, surfaced in a new Washington Post investigative report detailing the events of that day. Graham, according to the report, was livid that senators had been forced to flee their chambers due to protesters that had entered the Capitol. “What are you doing? Take back the Senate! You’ve got guns. Use them,” he told police personnel.

Over the last six months, companies globally have sounded the alarm about a growing supply chain threat: the incredible backup at US ports, in particular at ports in California. What started as a concern has spiraled into a full blown transportation emergency – one that threatens to spike already rising inflation and lead to scarcity of essential items here in the US. The current supply chain crisis falls squarely within the purview of the Secretary of Transportation – given that it involves ports, rail, and trucking (ie the basic components of the Secretary of Transportation’s policy portfolio).

Arguably the best exchange during Tuesday nightâs gubernatorial debate (the first of two) came when Phil Murphy â who spent most of the night trying to deflect away from his record â tried to smack Jack Ciattarelli over January 6th. âIf you want to talk about disqualifiers: âIf taxes are your issue, weâre probably not your state,'â Ciattarelli said, responding to Murphyâs oft-repeated allegation that the GOP nominee willingly participated in a âStop the Stealâ rally. âOr saying that you wanted to make New Jersey the California of the East Coast? I consider those disqualifiers.â âThe people died, Assemblyman! People...

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Republican candidate for Minnesota governor Scott Jensen says a mass shooting at a St. Paul bar early Sunday morning shows the idea of defunding the police is “ridiculous.” A woman was killed and 14 people were injured when gunfire broke out at Seventh Street Truck Park just after midnight. Three suspects have been arrested and are being treated at area hospitals for injuries suffered in the shooting. On Facebook, Jensen posted a video of Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher driving through the area of the shooting the night before it happened. Fletcher regularly livestreams patrols from his...
