'What happened on October 7th was genocide at the highest level’. Trump calls October 7th “genocide at the highest level” after UN accuses Israel of genocide in Gaza. On the hostages who are still being held by Hamas: We have probably 20 that are living. It's a nasty situation.

-snip- Following that post, Trump provided historical context of the United States standing up to Moscow with a Truth Social post composed of a black-and-white photo of him sticking his finger into the chest of Putin and one of President Richard Nixon sticking his finger into the chest of Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev. Elliott Erwitt's 1959 "Kitchen Debate" photograph, showing Nixon jabbing a finger at Khrushchev, became an enduring Cold War symbol of America standing firm against Moscow. Taken at the American National Exhibition in Moscow, the impromptu exchange over communism and capitalism played out in a model kitchen —...

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the U.S. federal government has revealed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is still secretly investigating the Jeffrey Epstein case, despite claims to the contrary. Despite previous denials and public statements suggesting the Epstein case had been closed, federal court filings now confirm that the DOJ and the FBI are actively continuing their investigation. The federal investigation includes reviewing documents related to Epstein’s network of associates and clients. The revelation came in a July 7 joint status report filed in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit from government...

If anyone can bring America through these “interesting times”, Trump can. And I, like millions of other real, patriotic Americans, will support him in every way I can Interesting Times It is said that there’s an old Chinese curse, “May you live in interesting times”, wherein “interesting” appears to be sarcastically ironic. Well, folks, I can’t speak for anyone else, but as I look around each day, I cannot help but conclude that we are, indeed, living in “interesting times”. China, on many levels, second only to the United States, has performed the Great Leap Forward that Mao dreamed of,...

OK, let's create one master reference thread for our favorite classic political pictures. I keep seeing requests inside of threads for particular pictures, so how about we post our favorites here, and then if someone still can't find what they are looking for they can request it in a post here. Bookmark for future reference. Here are some of my favorites to start things off: Anyone got the version where his ears are wiggling? And my all-time favorite Bush photo

As the fires burn across the Middle East, Barack Obama and his surrogates loudly insist that the wave of Islamic attacks on American interests, including the brutal murder of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, has all been caused by a YouTube video. As many observers have noted, this tactic is useful in deflecting attention from the administration's security failures, but it also serves a more sinister purpose: facilitating the suppression of political speech in America.

WASHINGTON – Officials tell The Associated Press that the Environmental Protection Agency has concluded greenhouse gases are endangering people's health and must be regulated. The EPA will announced its findings at a news conference Monday. The announcement is timed to boost the Obama administration's arguments at an international climate conference — beginning this week — that the United States is taking actions to combat global warming, even though Congress has yet to act on climate legislation. Under a Supreme Court ruling, the so-called endangerment finding is needed before the EPA can regulate carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases released...

This was discussion on another thread as to who would get Time's prestigious Man of the Year award. It was suggested that John O'Neill should. It just seems unlikely that this will come to fruition. So who needs Time, anyhoo? Freeper tazannie suggested that we have our own "Man of the Year" awards and Jim gave his blessing to let the nominations begin! I suggested that the winner be the guest of honor at the Freeper Ball. Wouldn't that be a blast?

I just spent an enjoyable 15 minutes being grilled by an aggrieved Ithica native on the topic of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and their excellent new ad. Feel free to critique my performance -- I'm still learning how to do this stuff.

Thursday February 13, 7:51 PM Taiwan on alert against any Chinese invasion during Iraq war Taiwan Defense Minister Tang Yao-ming said the military had been put on a state of alert for fear China could take advantage of a war in Iraq to launch an invasion of the island.
