Spain's migrant amnesty is set to attract more than one million people, which is double the expected number of undocumented workers seeking legal residency rights. The migration ministry said it had received about 900,000 applications. The government initially thought only half a million illegal migrants would claim. CEAR, a non-profit refugee aid organisation, said it expected applications to exceed one million by the time the programme ended in two weeks. The amnesty was championed by Pedro Sánchez, Spain's centre-Left leader, who argued that integrating paperless migrants was just and made economic sense. Spain's economic growth has far outpaced most European...

The stereotype here is so on the nose that The Babylon Bee couldn't have written it better 😂 VIDEO AT LINK............... As they say in Dearborn, Alhamdulillah! People had thoughts on a local news account: This week is the Islamic slaughter day of Eid al-Adha, where a goat is killed to cover their sins. They connect this to the biblical story in Genesis 22 where Abraham is asked by God to offer his son as a sacrifice. Muslims, however, believe God offered up a ram to replace Ishmael, ignoring the fact that God's provision and promises were made through Isaac....

The network operated mainly out of Brampton, Caledon, and Mississauga, touching Surrey, British Columbia,...

Sir Sadiq Khan has accused Sir Keir Starmer of failing to deliver on Labour’s election promises. The Mayor of London also said that the Prime Minister’s speech after Labour’s local elections disaster, in which he vowed to face up to the big challenges the country faces, was “not enough”. He also heaped praise on Andy Burnham, and refused to say whether or not he would want him to lead Labour into the next election should he win the Makerfield by-election next month.

Maryan Hashi remembers the thoughts running through her mind when she began hitting the ski slopes in northern Sweden. Do they think it’s weird I’m on the slope?” she said. “But I carried on — I felt if I didn’t, I was never going to commit to anything in my life.” A few years later, snowboarding is the 30-year-old student’s big passion and it is helping her integrate into her...

New Delhi [India], February 8 (ANI): Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias on Saturday said the Indian subcontinent could emerge as one of the most suitable partners for legal migration to Europe, citing the continent's ageing population and near-negative population growth. Speaking at the India-EU Forum 2026, Dendias said migration was a global, long-standing phenomenon that would continue, but stressed that Europe must develop a balanced, structured migration framework. "Migration is a world phenomenon. It was part of what was happening in the world in the past, and it will remain in the future," he said. Highlighting Europe's demographic challenges, Dendias...

In one sense, Saddam Azlan Salim is a classic immigrant success story. Born in Bangladesh, he grew up in northern Virginia and quickly demonstrated an aptitude for the political rough-and-tumble of his adoptive land. Now he is 36 years old, a Virginia state senator, and a rising star in that state’s now-dominant Democrat Party establishment. In another sense, however, Saddam Azlan Salim clearly retains at least some of the sensibilities of the land of his birth, and he wants to bring them to his new land: He has just introduced a bill to criminalize “Islamophobia” in Virginia. In Bangladesh, criticizing...

Plans to house 70 asylum seekers next to a medical centre in the heart of a Welsh village have sparked uproar. Police officers kept watch and patrolled Rhosllanerchrugog, near Wrexham, today as around 500 locals queued for the packed public meeting. In the end so many people arrived that the event had to be held outdoors. Many say the former sheltered housing should instead be used by the under-pressure NHS to relieve bed-blocking in hospitals. They also fear that if the proposal goes ahead, it could house single men about whose backgrounds they know nothing, leaving them feeling unsafe in...

Sitting underneath Ayyash’s menu with its hot, very hot and “pepper x” levels of spiciness, a slim, 30-something Palestinian American named Zyad is snacking on some of Ayyash’s specially seasoned french fries. This, he says, is one of his favorite options in Temple Terrace, a city on the northeast side of Tampa Bay and epicenter of its robust halal food scene. “There’s a Yemeni place down the road, several shawarma options, an Arab grocery store, a Turkish grocery store, bakeries, clothing stores, restaurants, food trucks. The list goes on,” he told New Lines. “Tampa,” Zyad said, “is like the new...
