KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — A suspected suicide attacker triggered a car bomb near a convoy of French troops Sunday in southern Afghanistan, killing himself but injuring no one else, Afghan officials said.

A suicide bomber set off a blast near a night club in downtown Tel Aviv late Friday, killing several people, Israel Army Radio reported. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. The radio said the bomber blew himself up among people waiting outside the "Stage" club. There were about 30 casualties, it said. Israel and the Palestinians declared a cease-fire earlier this month meant to end more than four years of fighting. During the violence, Tel Aviv was a frequent target of Palestinian suicide bombers.
