An Indiana-based energy distribution group that operates in Ohio has informed the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) that the company will not hire homeschool graduates, a situation that may not only reflect discrimination, but also the possibility that, with a nationalized set of standards such as Common Core, homeschoolers could be shown the door when they apply for jobs in the future.

GILFORD, NH, May 6, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The father of a Gilford High School student was arrested at a school board meeting on Monday night after objecting that the school had assigned his 14-year-old daughter to read a pornographic book without his knowledge or consent. William Baer, an attorney who moved to New Hampshire from New Jersey, registered his complaint about the book Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, which includes a graphic depiction of sex between two teenagers, at the local school board meeting.

Newton schools are asking parents to have their kids leave so-called "celebratory" clothing at home. They’re talking about accessories or clothes given out at a birthday parties or other celebrations that kids then wear to class on Monday. School officials say this is becoming a trend at Oak Hill and other Newton middle schools. They say it leads to other kids feeling excluded and reminded they were not included in the festivities.

Home-schooling parents in Frederick County, learning that their children could not play on high school football teams, decided not to punt.
