In related news, Holcomb also vetoed House Bill 1041 on Monday which would have banned transgender female high school athletes from playing on the girls’ teams. The bill had previously faced criticism despite passing through both the Indiana House and Senate. “It’s encouraging to see Governor Eric Holcomb tell his party that their culture wars have crossed the line. Signing House Bill 1041 into law would have put the lives of our children in jeopardy. However, this unnecessary debate has set a tone with kids that being transgender means something is wrong with them. It must be said that nothing...

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb (R) is expected to reimpose coronavirus restrictions in most counties in the state on Wednesday amid rising hospitalizations and deaths. The restrictions, set to go into effect next weekend, will apply to 87 of the state’s 92 counties, which are considered to be at the two higher-risk levels of virus spread. The highest-risk red counties will only allow gatherings of up to 25 people, while the next-highest orange counties will permit crowds of up to 50 people, the governor said during his address. Religious gatherings are exempt, and any other events that plan to have a...

Hoosiers have been ordered to continue wearing masks for another 30 days. With the first mask mandate set to expire, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb decided to extend the mandatory face-covering order through Sept. 25. "On one hand we're pleased that we've been holding steady, steady Eddy Indiana here in terms of positivity rate," Gov. Holcomb said. "We don't want that to trend up. We want that to trend down even more." Indiana will also remain in 'stage 4.5' of the state's reopening plan. Effectively, nothing changes in terms of capacity to restaurants, bars and entertainment venues.

CHICAGO (CBS) - Saying Indiana is “ready to move ahead in a measured way,” Gov. Eric Holcomb said the state will begin easing the restrictions of its stay-at-home order for most of the state starting Monday. Calling the COVID-19 outbreak a “very challenging time for Hoosiers,” Holcomb said the state will take a five-step approach to reopening by Independence Day. “We are doing this together, and together we will overcome this disease, and come out a stronger Indiana,” Holcomb said. **SNIP** The first stage was the stay-at-home order that has been in place the last few weeks, to help make...

STATE HOUSE - A protest against the governor’s stay at home order is planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday on the south lawn of the state house. It’s being organized by the same group that led a protest April 18, a group that believes the governor’s executive orders are unconstitutional. “The governor has kept the economy shut down, so we need to send a message to him that we need to open up the economy and let people get back to work, and everybody’s essential,” said Bob Hall, one of the organizers. Hall said he believes the orders violate the right...

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — The Howard County commissioners on Friday approved a ban on the sale of nonessential goods from stores remaining open because they were deemed essential during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. The commissioners’ order says the sale of nonessential goods at essential stores was “not fair” to the businesses selling only nonessential goods that have closed in compliance with the county’s public health emergency ordinance. The ban will begin at noon Saturday, the order says. Signs in the stores must notify shoppers of the ban. The nonessential goods include jewelry, furniture, home and lawn decor, toys/games, carpet/rugs/flooring, nonemergency...

As the truth about Planned Parenthood is revealed to those who believed it was simply a women’s healthcare organization, people are turning away, disassociating themselves with a baby parts trafficking business which even harvests organs from born alive infants. Today, Arkansas State Representative Mike Holcomb joined the list of defectors by leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Republican Party. Holcomb, from Pine Bluff, a two-term legislator, said: "I’ve chosen to join the Republican Party because I firmly believe that the conservative values they represent best align with my own personal beliefs and convictions. I believe in the sanctity of...
