Virginia Beach had gotten bad over the years. Looks like it might be turning around.
I had a bandmate for a while that had just came out to Cali from Virginia beach. He was quite conservative like myself. Very unusual for us rock and rollers but we do exist.
Virginia Beach voted for Obama, one of the few Leopard spot voting areas in southern Virginia. Lots of problems back in the late 70’s with the natives. We saw some of them and their attitudes when we were there.
A friend of mine was a police chief at a local university down there (he had family in the area). Then he left, but don’t know if he stayed in the area. He was a sharp cop and black. He knew the hoods so I suspect that he had enough of that kind of crap while on the Alexandria, Va PD.
A conservative GOPer won a state Senate seat yesterday, too. 21-19 GOP split! Now if we can sweep in November....
