Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday vowed to “stay out” of the potentially “highly contested” 2024 Republican presidential primary. “The way I’m going into this presidential primary season is to stay out of it,” McConnell told reporters. “I don’t have a dog in that fight. I think it’s going to be a highly contested nomination fight with other candidates entering.” It is well known McConnell was not the biggest supporter of former President Donald Trump, who announced he was running for president Tuesday night. No other GOP primary contender has entered the race.

President Obama's approval rating may be on the decline, but that hasn't diminished his star power as fundraiser-in-chief. In fact, demand for the president has grown in what will be a contentious mid-term election, with Republicans planning to sweep Congress. Since January, the president has raked in more than $20 million for Democratic candidates and committees, and he continues to draw supporters who pay thousands of dollars to hear and see the president, and take a picture with him -- for an additional cost, of course. How much exactly the president has raised is still unknown, since the administration is...

Shedding Light on the Protein Big Bang Theory March 13, 2009 — The precise three-dimensional structure of a typical protein molecule is so complex, its origin would seem hopeless by chance. What if evolutionary biologists were to discover a whole host of proteins literally exploded into existence at the beginning of complex life? We can find out what they would think by looking at an article on the “protein big bang” found on Astrobiology Magazine...

6/29/2006 - ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (AFPN) -- The beginning of an era for Robins Air Force Base and the warfighters of Air Force Special Operations Command was marked June 28 as the first-of-its-kind MC-130W was presented to Lt. Gen. Michael W. Wooley, AFSOC commander, in a ceremony here. "A lot of work went into this aircraft," said Maj. Gen. Michael A. Collings, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center commander. "Sweat, hard work and brains brought about this large initiative in support of the global war on terror. My challenge is that the need for these aircraft is today, and...

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Retired U.S. Army Col. Young O. Kim, a highly decorated military hero of World War II and the Korean War who later worked to help the city's Asian communities, has died. He was 86. Kim died from cancer on Dec. 29 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to Diane Tanaka, associate director of the Go For Broke Educational Foundation, which Kim co-founded and served as chairman emeritus. "There aren't many war heroes like him, regardless of race and ethnicity," said Edward Chang, an assistant professor of ethnic studies at the University of California, Riverside. "He's a truly...

BERKELEY – Charles Pierce really likes playing video games. He practices piano and violin. He used to study aikido, but lately he's been more interested in taking up fencing. Lately, however, the 13-year-old has mostly been hitting the books. Charles is the youngest transfer student this fall at the University of California, Berkeley, where he's now in his junior year. His 14-year-old sister, Mayumi, also transferred in this fall as a junior. Attending UC Berkeley is a bit of a family tradition: Their parents, Wincie Pierce and Qin Ma, met and married while they were students at UC Berkeley in...

The Candidate With No Name By Andrew L. Jaffee, July 29, 2004 Home   Search   Forum   Terms ”Defeat Bush – VOTE In 2004!” I’ve seen more bumper-stickers with this platitude than I’ve seen ones that simply state, “Kerry/Edwards 2004.” While my liberal friends rarely mention Kerry and Edwards, they constantly remind me of how much they hate President Bush. This year, the politics of hate rule. The Left doesn’t even have a candidate. They are galvanized mainly by visceral hatred -- a hatred which stands on shaky assumptions, like the lies that Michael Moore sells as truths. In Fahrenheit 9/11, Moore insinuates that...
