Anybody know? Walmart? Circuit City? Ain't got the patience for Vista.

My furnace failed to click on this morning. The digital light code was: 1 long light; 2 short lights. I pulled the cover off and underneath is a rocker switch. It's designed to shut off the furnace whenever the cover is off (I'm assuming). Anyway, I pushed the rocker switch and the furnace started to come back on. I replaced the cover and the furnace is now running. I guess I'll call a heating pro this week but, for the time being, any ideas?

Haven't been on here for a couple years. I was lucky to even remember my user name and password. Here's the help I need: I remember a couple of times on Christmas I read a story, namely Ramona and The Three Wise Persons to my kids. I would like to do so again this year but have no idea what book or story anthology it would possibly be in. I was at a used book store yesterday and the gentleman searched on amazon to no avail. Anybody ever heard of this story or know where I could get it?

I'm preparing for a Christmas party and the recipe calls for 40 regular marshmallows, 6 cups of cereal and 3 tbl spoons of butter.After having dumped out the required amount of marshmallows from the store bought bag, I'm now left with 25 regular marshmallows.If I wanted to make another batch with only 25 regular marshmallows, how many cups of cereal and how much butter would I need? I mean really, what the hell am I supposed to do with 25 marshmallows?Maybe I should have gone with the string cheese instead

I have a friend, who has written a book, and he is attempting to perfect bind the book on his own. He has run into problems with the single-sheet binding, where the pages, even with hot melt adhesive are not adhering to the spine properly. The pages are easily pulled out of the spine with an even side to side pull. He's come to the point where he believes he as a single individual cannot purchase the best hot melt adhesive, and it is only sold to industry book binders. Any thoughts on this? Any help? Is there a type...

My 200gig HD is partitioned as 2 drives, one for the OS and one for storage. Friday night I put the 200 into an external HD enclosure and since then the second partition will not show up.Is there a way to get that information back?

Hey gang, Can anyone recommend a good air cleaner/air purifier for someone suffering from dust allergy? )As opposed to pollen, animal dander, etc.) And if you can't recommend one could you point me in the right direction? The air purifier wouldn't be for the basement, garage, or anything like that. It would be for the bedroom, living areas...we're talking about 1K sq.feet, give or take. Took a look on the web and discovered there are about 10 trillion of these purifiers, and, naturally each one claims to be "the best". I don't mind spending a little money (say under $400)...

I need to do a background check on someone...public records and criminal history. Will pay for a good search. I've looked at a lot of the web sites, but have read that some of them are scams. Has anyone used a good one? Any suggestions or insights? Should I just hire a private detective to do it? Thanks

My wife works with a single mom. The single mom is an OR scrub tech with two children, a four year old girl and an eight year old boy. She also has no money and hasn't been able to buy any gifts for her kids for xmas. This is a last item at the bottom of my priorities because I just found out about it tonight, but what could I get the children that wouldn't break the bank? A quick request, as I trust and value the prayers of all the saints on here...the daughter of one of my best friends is home sick from college with something they can't pin down. She is studying to be youth minister and as vibrant and wonderful as anybody you've ever met. Three weeks ago, she began running a 103 degree tempterature, and went in the hospital near Cleveland I think. Temp finally dropped but all her immunities are low' they've shipped her home to Cincinnat, but have "white roomed" her room at home, and in recent days she's gone back...

Vanity question I have regarding the taxes paid on Internet shopping. Is it standard practice for a company to tax the shipping and handling charges? The reason I'm asking I just ordered something online and the company charged my taxes based on the amount that included the shipping and handling.

My Tiger Direct computer wont start this am. It is a stand alone used for my children's homeschooling software. The screen says that the screen is working. The computer is pinging and the green normal light is on and the red light that flashes on during start up is staying on. I dont know what to do. any ideas? Should I hock it up to the web to fix it?

I am calling on the knowledgeable FR Community to help identify an object that has me baffled. This silver doohickey was unearthed recently with the help of a metal detector by a friend of mine. It is 2 3/4 in tall X 1 1/4 in wide. It has a bracket on the back that is deep enough to accept maybe a leather strap and on the bottom - something is missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for long title and caps. I am typing thru tears. My mom is dying of pancreatic cancer. She raised my son and I got thru to Red Cross & Hospice and they approved it. Military is denying it saying she is not loco parentis. On top of that nobody knows how to do the paper work. My son is her baby (30 Year Old Marine) and she is all she wants. I have, at home, a wireless network. Computer C and computer V are part of this network, run Windows XP Home, SP2, and also are part of Windows workgroup S_NET. Computer V has a USB printer, to which computer C can print wirelessly. When I look at workgroup computers on computer C, I see computers C and V. I now want to add computer M to this workgroup. I run the workgroup setup wizard, give it the name of the workgroup S_NET, and the wizard finishes fine. However, afterwards, I cannot print wirelessly from computer M to computer V. Also,...
