Here is a line by line transcript of President Obama's speech on healthcare, made before a joint session of Congress, on 9 September 2009. This particular transcript was pulled from the www.whitehouse.gov site. I have started labelling each line with "true" or "false" or "okay" or "n/a" or whatever. Have at it: okay 1 THE PRESIDENT: Madam Speaker, Vice President Biden, members of Congress, and the American people: FALSE 2 When I spoke here last winter, this nation was facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. FALSE 3 We were losing an average of 700,000 jobs per month....

There was a moment of supreme truth during Obama's speech Wednesday night, lamentably for Obama, it rolled off the tongue of the very charismatic Rep. Joe Wilson as he interrupted Obama, mid-lie, with the utterance, "You lie!!" The catalyst that apparently ignited Joe Wilson's enthusiastic interjection was Obama's deceptive statement that illegal immigrants would not be covered under his universal health care program. Joe Wilson, apparently temporarily possessed by the Holy Ghost of honesty, was left no choice other than to attempt to cast out the demonic spirit of misstatement that had set up shop in Obama's vocal chords.

"Hubris-laden charlatans" was the way a recent e-mail from a reader characterized the Obama administration. That phrase seems especially appropriate for the Charlatan-in-Chief, Barack Obama, whose speech to a joint session of Congress was both a masterpiece of rhetoric and a shameless fraud. To tell us, with a straight face, that he can insure millions more people without adding to the already skyrocketing deficit, is world-class chutzpa and an insult to anyone's intelligence. To do so after an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office has already showed this to be impossible reveals the depths of moral bankruptcy behind the glittering...

I posted this about a month ago, but it is still relevant because Obama keeps on making this lie by including it in is speech last night. In his speech last night, in other recent speeches and in his editorial in the New York Times he wrote about a month ago, he has continued to mention the sad case of an Illinois man who lost his health coverage during life saving chemotherapy and consequently died because he did not disclose a previous condition of gallstones. Quoting his editorial in the New York Times, “A man lost his health coverage in...

Last night, (Scott wrote about Obama's Missing Millions) These are the 16 million people who were included when President Obama said last month that 46 million Americans lack health coverage but excluded when, in his speech to Congress, Obama lowered the number to 30 million. It seems clear that most of these missing millions (9.6 milllion, in fact) are non-citizens, and, in most of these cases, illegal immigrants. The remainder, I assume, are people who are enrolled in Medicaid or S-CHIP but didn't tell the census taker. This is the so-called "Medicaid undercount," discussed (here). So Obama counted non-citizens as...

Ok. this is a total vanity but a few observations on last nights speech. 1. My favorite analysis of last night - Steve Hayes, said Obama didn't overcome his chief obstacle: "the common sense of the American people!" 2. I thought his speech was uninspiring, insipid, and mean. And just plain stupid. To me, it was almost painful to watch a la Michael Scott on The Office. 3. If you believe he can increase coverage and add people and make up the cost by "eliminating waste and abuse" - then what can I say to you? 4.This whole Joe Wilson...
