My thoughts on last nights speech
Vanity | 09/10/09 | Me

Ok. this is a total vanity but a few observations on last nights speech.

1. My favorite analysis of last night - Steve Hayes, said Obama didn't overcome his chief obstacle: "the common sense of the American people!"

2. I thought his speech was uninspiring, insipid, and mean. And just plain stupid. To me, it was almost painful to watch a la Michael Scott on The Office.

3. If you believe he can increase coverage and add people and make up the cost by "eliminating waste and abuse" - then what can I say to you?

4.This whole Joe Wilson thing is just to distract from the fact that the speech he gave was horrible. Mr. Wilson apologized, which was probably a good thing just to get it out of the news, but really? He was calling all conservative Americans liars and Joe just returned the favor.

As to getting around the common sense of American voters, “O” already did that when he got himself elected. However, he’s now asking Americans to buy a pig in a poke and they’re not having it.

Hear...Hear..Bravo for Joe.

Obama is above his pay grade. You can fool democrats all the Time but you can only fool Republicans a few times, and last night wasn’t one of the Few.

Agree that's a big part of it. I sent Leader Boehner an email to express support for Wilson. Contact Leader Boehner

How many times has this president given a "major address as a modifier with this administration is becoming as meaningful as when used in the movie A Christmas Story when referring to the Nehi lamp as a major award.

Garble alert - what I meant to say was: How many times has this president given a major address? Major as a modifier with this administration is becoming as meaningful as when used in the movie A Christmas Story when referring to the Nehi lamp as a major award.

It matters not, IMHO. He'll just shove it down our collective throats & that'll be that.

He should eliminate the waste and abuse first. Then we can see clearly whether the numbers make sense.

Otherwise, he’s just so much talk.

I don’t understand how a President (ANY President) can continue to forge ahead with a piece of legislation (ANY legislation) so demonstrably rejected by fully 50%+ of the people he’s supposed to represent. That alone would send a rational person back to the drawing board.

There has never been a President as divisive as this guy. He’s blind deaf and dumb to what the nations is saying.

Some of us had this conversation yesterday:

‘O’ really IS an empty suit except for his insufferable and gratuitous arrogance. Think of it, what in the world would he be if he was NOT arrogant? The answer is ... ‘NOTHING’. (We won’t even mention the first ‘lady’)
I had a professor once who said that ‘Arrogance is what you get when you put a small person in a large position.’ He was right!!

Also, arrogance is what new-money people, and other childishly class-conscious social losers, mistake for breeding.

Since they do not possess any breeding or poise of their own, they ape the most openly distasteful and offensive behavior of the even more disgusting new-money clowns with whom they are initially permitted social access or interaction.

I have been around ‘old-money’ types and if I didn’t know better, I would not for an instant think they had any more or less material advantage than I have myself.

Arrogance in any manner is regarded as the height of bad form in truly well bred people and is exhibited in only the lowest or most recently elevated individuals or groups.

My thoughts on last night. Obama again verbally assaulted and verbally abused the media, radio, leaders in Washington and the American citizenry, and he got ‘called out’ on it.. And I called the White House and again, yess again, (because I did it once before on obama’s verbal abuse) of Americans!!
Funny the Democrat ‘leaders’ and state run media can ‘see’ it in others, but do not see it in themselves or their media hyped empty image, Obama.
