A Texas school district drew a rebuke from the nation's largest police union after a junior high school teacher distributed an assignment that likens police to slave owners and Ku Klux Klan members. The unauthorized assignment featured a five-panel cartoon of a slave ship officer and others with a knee on a black man's neck. It culminated with a modern-day police officer with a knee on a suspect's neck, the Washington Examiner reported. The victims, echoing the words of George Floyd, say, "I can’t breathe." David Vinson, the superintendent of the Wylie Independent School District, northeast of Dallas, apologized after...

Black men who try to avoid an encounter with Boston police by fleeing may have a legitimate reason to do so — and should not be deemed suspicious — according to a ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Warren was arrested on Dec. 18, 2011, by police who were investigating a break-in in Roxbury. Police had been given a description of the suspects as three black men — one wearing a “red hoodie,” one wearing a “black hoodie” and the other wearing “dark clothing.” An officer later spotted Warren and another man (both wearing dark clothing) walking near a...

The campus culture war is a religious war, a so-far largely peaceful counterpart to the violent purges and revolutions of jihad. One faith has been expunged, relegated to the margins of the academy, and now another fills the vacuum. Out with the Christianity that spawned American higher education, in with a ferocious new faith — a social-justice progressivism unrestrained by humility and consumed with righteous zeal. Contemporary Americans — educated in the kind of revisionist history that dominates our educational system from top to bottom — forget that higher education was initially a thoroughly Christian enterprise, in keeping with the...

Questions are being raised over two U.S. foundations that have poured more than three million dollars into abortion rights, LGBT activist, and legal groups to push the message that exemptions based on religious beliefs are “un-American” and an abuse of liberty. The Arcus Foundation and the Ford Foundation have spent over $3 million in combined spending against religious liberty exemptions since 2013, according to a CNA review of tax forms and grant listings.

In campaign mode for months, President Barack Obama is making his quest for a second term official with rallies in Ohio and Virginia while casting Republican rival Mitt Romney as a flip-flopping protector of the rich.

Thanks to Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen, the stay-at-home-mom versus career-mom debate was resurrected. Rosen, while on a CNN show recently, commented that Ann Romney shouldn’t be giving her presidential candidate husband advice on women’s economic troubles because she “had never worked a day in her life.” Rosen has since apologized for that remark, withits offensive implication that stay-at-home moms aren’t really working, but not until many others had weighed in. Of course, Rosen had to throw in the jab that the outrage over her remark was “faux,” as if ginned up for other reasons.

Not only is Mormonism a Christian faith, it is the truest form of Christianity, said speaker after speaker on the first day of the 177th Semiannual LDS General Conference. LDS authorities were responding to the allegation that Mormonism isn't part of Christianity. Made by different mainline Protestant and Catholic churches and repeated constantly during coverage of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, the claim is based on Mormonism's beliefs about God, its rejection of ancient ideas about the Trinity still widely accepted, and the LDS Church's extra-biblical scriptures. "It is not our purpose to demean any person's belief nor the doctrine of...

Does Moveon.org speak for you? Apparently they speak for the hearts and minds of Haters who are the Democrat Party. Only Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Presidential hopeful John Edwards and ex-Democrat and now Independent Senator Joseph Lieberman has the honestly and class from the left to repudiate the vile and loathsome biased attack that Democrats planned and Moveon carried out against General David Petraeus before anyone had even heard word one of his testimony on Iraq.

Duke University police barred members of the New Black Panthers from the school's campus this morning. About 40 members of the group came to protest against white lacrosse players charged with raping a black escort service dancer at a team party. Though university officials had said they would be permitted to protest on the private school's grounds, police refused to let them enter the West Campus on Duke University Drive. Officers said students were already overstressed by exams and the protest might further unsettle them. The Panthers, dressed in fatigues, combat boots and flak jackets -- some sporting knives on...

For a media columnist facing a deadline and a slow news week, Abraham Foxman is truly a gift that keeps on giving. The national director of the Anti-Defamation League can barely open his mouth without inviting incredulity and ridicule from anyone not currently on the ADL’s payroll (and probably many who are). Foxman’s latest foray into the absurd came earlier this month when, in a speech at the ADL’s national conference in New York, he drew an apocalyptic picture of conservative Christians laying waste to the citadels of American democracy and urged organized Jewry to come together to man the...

A brain scan that can apparently root out racists has been developed by scientists. The technique was used on white volunteers shown photographs of black individuals. In those with racist tendencies, a surge of activity was seen in part of the brain that controls thoughts and behaviour. Scientists believe this reflected volunteers' attempts to to curb their latent racism. After interacting with real black individuals, the same group performed poorly in a task designed to test mental resources. The American researchers concluded that harbouring racial prejudice, even unintentionally, stirred up an inner struggle that exhausted the brain. Dr Jennifer Richeson,...

Greater Bethel AME Church (African Methodist Episcopal) 140 Rose St Athens 706/548-0014 Pastor: David T. Batts PROFILE OF PASTOR BATTS Over the weekend, the philandering adulterer daddy and race-baiting poverty pimp, Rev. Jesse Jackson, used the pulpit at the Greater Bethel AME Church in Athens, Georgia for a RAT partisan diatribe. Why is that church, that is using the pulpit to promote RAT political interests, allowed to retain its tax-exempt status? Why is it exempt from property tax? It is absolutely an arm of the RAT party. That is fine, however, they should pay for it. I tried calling the...
