So as conservatives rally behind Cruz for taking on the establishment and doing such a great job trying to prevent the statist from destroying health care, I have figured, soon after it will be time to turn the same attention to the gov't's attempts to take over our education and gov'ts attempts to use education to enslave the people. Student loans are pretty close to being as dire a crisis as saving health care from gov't tyranny. The following are solutions that conservatives have suggested for student loans: 1. Privatize student loans entirely 2. Cap the amount students can borrow...

America clocked up a record last week. The latest drop in house prices meant that the cost of real estate has fallen by 33% since the peak – even bigger than the 31% slide seen when John Steinbeck was writing The Grapes of Wrath. Unemployment has not returned to Great Depression levels but at 9.1% of the workforce it is still at levels that will have nerves jangling in the White House. The last president to be re-elected with unemployment above 7.2% was Franklin Delano Roosevelt.... Policy, as ever, is geared towards growth because the great existential fear of the...

We live in an odd world. All too often, good news is turned on its head and made out to be bad news. Such good news that is often dragged through the mud is the trade deficit widening. Each time that it is reported to widen, the news organizations and the protectionists come out and trash the news. But what is so bad about having a trade deficit? For starters, a trade deficit occurs when a nation imports more than it exports. Currently, the U.S. imports more than it exports. Protectionists argue that more imports than exports harms American jobs...

Senator Edward M. Kennedy offered to work in close concert with high level Soviet officials to sabotage President Ronald Reagan’s re-election efforts and to arrange for congenial American press coverage of General Secretary Yuri Andropov, according to a 1983 KGB document. Specifically, Kennedy offered to have “representatives of the largest television companies in the U.S. contact Y.V. Andropov for an invitation to Moscow for the interview.” The idea here would be for the Soviet leader to make an end run around Reagan and make a direct appeal to the American people. Kennedy suggested that Walter Cronkite, Barbara Walters and Elton...

The House of Representatives, its members and its leaders have not gotten the message. They still are bent on enacting health care reform that is everything but health care reform. It is the most egregious act ever undertaken by any Congress in the history of the republic. It is the most substantial step toward statism and socialistic government yet attempted by anyone. It is, many say, a step toward government control from which the country cannot recover. It is intolerable and unacceptable, and if it passes we are no longer any of the things that have made this country exceptional...

(Eph 6:12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The United States Senate will soon render its advice and consent to the nomination of Governor Janet Napolitano (D-AZ) as the new secretary of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a border state governor, Napolitano has experience dealing with border security and led Arizona's efforts to tackle the immigration problem and enforce our immigration laws. Media reports suggest that she will bring this law enforcement mindset to the DHS. But reports thus far also suggest that the incoming Obama Administration has been less focused than Napolitano on border security and immigration issues, and it seems other issues...

PA NewsPac November 5, 2004 by Maurice Codd Amidst the ash heap of the Democratic Party election effort the search for the explanation of the wrack and ruin begins. But, to Democrats, the scariest possibility, and one which not a single Democratic leader has mentioned, is this: George Bush won because he is selling a better “product”, and that the core product, the core program, the core appeal, of the party of FDR has broken down. Here is a scary thought for Democrats: Voters got to know John Kerry well. Democrats did a great job of showing who the candidate...

Imagine if, tomorrow, the United States were to locate Usama bin Laden in a small town in Pakistan.

Could U.S. troops swoop down and capture him? Assuredly they could, if Pakistan consented. But what if Pakistan did not consent or if we found bin Laden in some country, such as Iran, that would probably object to U.S. intervention?
