I'm reposting it to get more play on the side bars. Not that I have any confidence that it will stay there.

For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would be against drilling at Anwar.

The lies of the environmentalists, funded by your tax dollars, and prominently displayed in the liberal media are what these uninformed voters are force fed. It takes some effort to discover where the truth is, an effort that most people are unwilling to apply. To these people the pictures of flowing rivers, majestic mountain vistas with tall trees and abundant wildlife, as depicted in the envirowienies ANWR adds, becomes ANWR in their mind. They are unwilling to believe anything that disproves this fallacy.

As/when regulations are written, public comment is required. There is a website that makes it easy for individuals to make and submit comments.

Regulations.Gov enables one to easily find the regulation and to comment. For example: select Interior Dept from the dropdown menu, click on FWS, and there you can comment on manatees in FL, pigmy owls in AZ, fruit bats, jumping mice, and others. Every federal agency is listed here.

I noticed this website at an enviro page, so you can be sure that they are using it.

"For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would be against drilling at Anwar. Voted."

How about being against it because we should save the resource until we actually need it... Why use our own when we can buy it cheap from foreign countries and deplete their reserves now and save ours until later?

Grimas, that's what they said in '83 when our domestic exploration/drilling industry was all but dismantled in favor of your "cheap" foreign (Arab) oil.

Why use our own...?

How about because it takes care of our own.
Support American jobs... Buy American!

we can buy it cheap from foreign countries and deplete their reserves...

I don't know about depleting their resources, but we sure have filled their pockets with American dollars some of which finance terror.

...until later?

Was September 11, 2001 late enough?

Good. It's foolish to pump our oil now. I'm not against drilling anwar in the future if the price goes to $40 a berrel but the cost of drilling is much higher than the price of oil will be after we take Iraq. It's not smart to drill now.

Very similar to stalin's talking points on another thread. It must be the new envirowienie/disrupter anti-ANWR drilling script.
