I am in search of video of Governor Parris Glendening's press conference in, I believe, March of 2000. This is the press conference where he goes to demonstrate how quickly trigger locks can be removed from guns and he fumbles around for more than two minutes, totally making a fool of himself.

Ellen Sauerbrey became an unwilling expert on election fraud following her 1994 bid to become Maryland's governor, which she lost to Democrat Parris Glendening. All during election night as precincts reported in, Sauerbrey remained ahead. Then, close to midnight, results started pouring in from precincts in Baltimore City, giving Glendening a 5,993-vote victory. It was the closest race in Maryland in 70 years. To this day, Sauerbrey and her running mate, former Howard County police chief Paul Rappaport, believe the election was stolen by Democratic party operatives who stuffed ballot boxes and altered voting machines after the polls were closed....

Up to now it's just been a war of words, but now Governor Glendening is upping the ante in his feud with Comptroller William Donald Schaefer. Glendening is giving Secretary of State John Willis $25,000 in campaign money he doesn't need anymore to use for radio ads in his uphill battle to unseat Shaefer. The ads will run in the Washington area where Schaefer isn't as popular as he is around Baltimore.
