Question: Did Donald Trump oppose or support the Iraq War? Before answering, a quick note on why providing clarity around a relatively simple question: It's rare that cooler heads can prevail in this media world we live in. Lines in the sand have never been drawn between blue and red media as vividly as they are now. And as a result, simple logic and lucidity is supplied less and less to drawing a verdict on whether a story is true or not. It's not just Madame Hillary, either. Senator Dianne Feinstein, chair of the Intelligence Committee, also turned on Obama - she said he was "totally not following the law!" - and was immediately attacked by Harry Reid this morning. Obama's gambit to distract America from the VA scandal is turning into the most devastating scandal of his crime-riddled presidency, its mega-tonnage amplified by the way it's causing Democrats to turn on each other. I think we'll see more of that over the next couple of days, as the implosion effect of this nuclear scandal blast sucks Obama's party into a blue-on-blue...

I can't believe this guy might be my next governor. Creigh Deeds, explaining his position on taxes, says at one point, "I'm not going to raise taxes, but I'm going to sign a transportation plan that raises new revenue." Then in the post-debate press conference, he says, within milliseconds of each other, "I have no plans to raise taxes" followed by "everything is on the table." Somewhere, John Kerry is watching this and saying, "See? It's not just me!"

Bob Herbert and our own Joe Galloway, you'd expect -- even, by this point, Thomas Friedman -- but Oliver North? But it happened, in the hawkish Fox News contributor's new syndicated column, where he came out against President Bush's reported plan to escalate the number of U.S. troops in Iraq.
