WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Ambassador to Panama John Feeley, a career diplomat and former Marine Corps helicopter pilot, has resigned, saying he no longer felt able to serve President Donald Trump. Feeley’s departure had been communicated to State Department officials on Dec. 27 snip A State Department spokeswoman confirmed Feeley’s departure, saying that he “has informed the White House, the Department of State, and the Government of Panama of his decision to retire for personal reasons, as of March 9 of this year.”

Feeley should concede by Collegian Editorial Board November 18, 2002 If all goes according to plan today, Democrats plan to announce whether they'll contest the results of yet another razor-thin election. Mike Feeley, the Democratic contestant for the newly created 7th Congressional District, is behind Republican Bob Beauprez by a mere 380 votes. Feeley and Democrats say they might sue, arguing: "all voters in the district aren't being treated equally." Well, this sure sounds familiar. In the 2000 presidential election, if you remember, Al Gore brought the contested recount results all the way to the Supreme Court and many were...

Near tie in race for 7th District Feeley, Beauprez court undecideds By Arthur Kane Denver Post Capitol Bureau Friday, October 18, 2002 - The candidates vying to represent the 7th Congressional District are locked in a virtual dead heat, with both sides seeking to lure the undecided and tune up efforts to get voters to cast ballots. Republican Bob Beauprez had the support of 40 percent, and Democrat Mike Feeley had support from 38 percent of 403 likely voters, according to a Denver Post-9News-KOA poll. Nineteen percent were undecided. Pollster Floyd Ciruli said voters can expect both sides to continue...

Democrat Touts Poll Showing Him Behind A poll taken last month for former state Sen. Mike Feeley (D) showed him trailing former state GOP Chairman Bob Beauprez by 6 points in the competitive new 7th district. The survey of 463 likely voters had Beauprez leading Feeley 39 percent to 33 percent, with 22 percent of respondents undecided. Conducted by Boulder, Colo.-based Harstad Strategic Research LLC, the poll was in the field Aug. 26-29 and had a margin of error of 4.6 percent. Given that this is considered a tossup race, it is unusual that Feeley's campaign would release a three-week-old...

Found this tidbit in a weekly talking points distributed by the Colorado Republican Committee... According to a poll by the Tarrance Group from August 19-20, Bob Beauprez (GOP) is leading Mike Feeley (DEM) 44% to 36% for Colorado's new 7th CD (no mention of the polls MOE). This is encouraging news given the district went for Gore in 2000 and has equal registration between Republicans and Democrats.
