Are others getting this message too? This is the first day I have ever received that message. Was curious if it was because of something I posted or was a new site procedure for new posts.

Can someone tell me how to get "Popular Articles" to update. Mine has been stuck for close to two weeks now with old articles. I've cleared my cookies, etc.. to no avail. Any idea how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

what are the rules for posting? maybe they should be spelled out. i'm getting a little irritated @ FR. are FReeper's no longer able to speak their minds? is their a thread that could enlighten me to the politically correct manner in which threads/responses should be posted?

This is for posters who don't want to view the chat, religion or any other forums besides the news forum. You have the option to view all topics or only one topic. In the sidebar on the right, look for "Browse by Forum". You have two options, "Everything" or you can choose only one topic to view as your default setting. Most who want to view only one forum choose news. Currently these are your only two options. Most posters choose all because they know how to sort through the comments that they want to read. AM

Would a forum to invite newbies to ask questions help increase participation?

Why isn't Free Republic easier to read on my iPhone and iTouch? When I click on a thread, the type spreads out and it's so small I cannot read it. Why doesn't it format in a narrower column so the font is larger and readable?

I've been here since late 2002. Many times I would like to know a little about a poster, but they haven't created an About Me page. It sometimes helps to frame the context of a comment, and besides, this forum feels like family. So please, take ten minutes or so and let the rest of us know a thing or two about you. I think it might help if there were several page templates for people to use.

Access to FreeRepublic has been spotty for me for quite some time now. But tonight I saw something I haven't seen before. At 8:04 PM ET, I tried to refresh FR three times. Each time the page came up reasonably quickly, but the most recent post was from 7:34 PM. (No. I'm not "working offline"!) Now I see that there were the usual number of posts during that half hour. Every day it gets harder and harder to use FreeRepublic. For some reason the site is suffering from unspecified "server" problems that are rarely explained in a way that longstanding members such as myself can even find. The only reason I know there is a server problem is because someone finally posted a comment from FR Staff over on the Alternate Free Republic site; a place I find myself turning to more and more frequently while waiting for the latest daily problem to be resolved. Is there an interface or utility that is available that would make this easier?

If this issue has already been addressed; my apology. I did a search for the subject, but found nothing. Is anyone else having problems accessing Free Republic lately? Ever since the SOTU address, it's been almost impossible to access the site. Usually, I just get sent back to my orginal website instantly. At other times, after a several minute delay, I'll get a "connection could not be made/server proxy error; site down for maintenance or heavy traffic. I don't think it's a problem with my computer because I can get to any other site in a snap.

Is it just me, or have FR's servers had a real tough week?
