Hello - I have a technical question for anybody who is good with computer software or images. I've read on several threads where people have posted links to image files with blown-up billboard size freep banners where you piece 8 or 10 pages of regular printer paper together to make a giant poster. A lot of these seem to go into PDF files. <p>Old links will be redirected to maintain bookmark compatibility. The new links will be more descriptive, offering the date of the article and perhaps a meaningful filename.</p>
<p>The timestamps on threads will change to your computer's local time zone, but only if you have JavaScript enabled. Otherwise they will be in US/Eastern. Your FR preference will be ignored (and will be phased out in favor of browser-side time zone handling.) The beauty of this arrangement is that as long as your computer displays the time in your time zone, FR will "Do The Right Thing"(tm).</p>

The Free Republic Controversy Money is often the center-point or at least the lead-pipe of any good controversy. This is perfectly illustrated in the battle of (or against) Free Republic. A number of the site's detractors have repeatedly "demonstrated" that Free Republic is bilking thousands from little old ladies in a Jimmy Bakker-esque scam. I like feeling wanted, but over the past several months I've noticed I'm getting pinged for things that I don't know (and unfortunately don't really care) about. The only ping list I remember signing up for is PJ's DUmmie FUnnies. Most of the other stuff is interesting, and it's nice to be invited into conversations, I'm just wondering if this is a common occurance with FReepers...or am I just odd? And really most of this stuff didn't start until I started with DUmmie FUnnies... or maybe that's the only time I really started noticing it. Any answers? Thanks

A new study published in the British Medical Journal, has revealed that left handed women are more at a risk of breast cancer. Researchers in the Netherlands examined the relation between handedness and incidence of breast cancer in over 12,000 healthy, middle aged women born between 1932 and 1941. Body measurements were taken and risk factors such as social and economic status, smoking habits, family history of breast cancer, and reproductive history were recorded.
