How do you post a picture in a reply? When I hit the reply button, I can't see where I can post a picture in addition to my written reply.
It will not work just pointing it to your home computer.

Got it. Thanks Jeff.
Hi EC -
Well, first you have to have your picture uploaded to a third party web site like Yahoo or Photobucket. Then, when you create a reply here on FR, you use an HTML code to link to it. Something like:
IMG SRC="http://www.photobucket.com/myname/mypicture.jpg"
This line HAS to have brackets on either side like these: < >
(I would show you, but if I did, the string would disappear and a broken jpg image would appear).
Go to any thread that has a picture in it, put your mouse pointer over it and right click. Then go to Properties. That will show you how the author wrote the string and where the picture is actually located.

You are welcome. Lurker's recommendation above to look for the HTML Boot Camp thread on FR is also a very good one for the mechanics of it.
HTML Bootcamp right here on FR.
Learn to format correctly Maggot!
Tiny Pic free-image hosting is OK if you don't have a URL. There are a few more free places also.
FR rivals Mensa for the greatest assemblage of brilliant minds IMHO.
The picture has to be hosted online. photobucket has free webspace you can use to host your pictures.
< (Opens the link)
img (Stands for image)
(space between img and src)
src (Stands for Source)
= (tells the computer that you are going to put in a destination)
"URL" (The url of the picture goes between quotation marks)
> (Closes the link)
put it all together and you get (with an unneeded space between the first karat and the img) < img src="http://webpages.charter.net/trussell/pictures/Hello%20stick%20person.gi"> This is the URL for the picture of the waving stick figure.
Take the space out after the first karat (<) and you would get
When I do a search for any keywords for the HTML Sandbox, I never can find it?
try it and see. ...searching for any of the keywords does not find the correct thread?
I found it in sort of a round about way. Didn't get any hits on HTML Bootcamp either. :(
Fer instance, here's a picture of a birdie I took a week ago or so: Feed The Birds
Gives the reader the option of clicking on the pix or not clicking.
Are you logged on?
There's a whole bunch of "HTML Sandbox" hits when a search is performed:

Thanks to DollyCali,I needed this one yesterday on a reply to a new poster and found somehow I had deleted it.
I remembered getting it from you in the beginning and hoped it would still be there.
I hope you don`t mind me referring to your homepage this way.
Absolutley NO objection (but if the person has dial up they will be PId at both of us) .. actually, I am flattered. If it is there on my page it was most likely copied from someone else!
we all share here at FRee Republic.
Happy New Year carl!
