What do Samantha Power, Obama’s nominee for UN Ambassador, and Richard Falk, UN Human Rights Council “expert” and Boston terror apologist, have in common? They both champion the United Nations’ human rights credentials and denigrate those of the United States. On Monday in Geneva at the Human Rights Council, Falk will provide a demonstration. Courtesy of the UN’s top human rights body – a body which the Obama administration joined and strongly supports – Falk will be welcomed to the podium to condemn Israel and throw potshots at the United States. The event will be an “interactive dialogue” with states...

Public employee unions had everything lined up. Their nemesis, Gov. Scott Walker, was facing an unprecedented recall election. Their hand-picked candidate, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, came out of the blocks running. Their front group was set to spend millions to help push Falk over the top. So what went wrong? Wisconsin for Falk, a coalition of labor groups, has spent an estimated $3 million on statewide TV ads and multiple slick fliers touting Falk's candidacy - all without seeing her gain traction against the Democratic front-runner, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. The most recent public and private polls show...

When Gov. Scott Walker went up with an ad last week attacking Tom Barrett, he was looking to weaken a potential June opponent. But Barrett used it as a badge of honor, because it seemed to bolster one of his main arguments to Democratic voters in the May 8 primary -- that he’s the opponent Walker takes most seriously. “I think it’s a bit of a back-handed compliment from the Republicans,” said Barrett spokesman Phil Walzak, who said the Walker ad shows “they’re clearly more concerned about facing Tom Barrett in the general election than any other candidate.” Is Tom...

MADISON (WKOW) -- The president of the Wisconsin Education Association Council said her group deviated from its past practice of polling members on election recommendations when it recommended Kathleen Falk in an expected recall election of Governor Walker. But WEAC President Mary Bell told 27 News the campaign timetable in a recall election will be considerably shorter than under normal election circumstances, necessitating the state teachers union's swift action. "It's one of the things that is the hardest about this, because we would like to do this in any or the recall elections," Bell said. "It simply isn't part of...

Some rank-and-file members upset with WEAC endorsing a unproven candidate for statewide office who has lost twice already. As Wisconsin taxpayers are faced with an expensive recall election for governor, rank-and-file members of the state’s largest teachers union are fuming mad over the endorsement of a candidate that was hand-picked by their leadership. Kathleen Falk, the former Dane County executive, was endorsed by Wisconsin Education Association Council bosses on Wednesday, with one condition: Uphold a promise to veto the budget reforms instituted by Gov. Scott Walker. Hours after the endorsement, a petition on change.org was created to demand that the...

Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk is running as a Democrat against Republican Gov. Scott Walker. She made her announcement today in an online video posted to her website and in an email message to supporters. Falk says in the message that the 1 million signatures submitted Tuesday to recall Walker was an “unprecedented and inspiring show of solidarity and determination.” Falk says she will make different choices than Walker on focus on creating good-paying jobs, a clean environment, successful schools and affordable health care. Friends of Scott Walker reacted to Falk's candidacy shortly after she declared. "Kathleen Falk's announcement...

... Israel's existence as a Jewish state is anathema to the Left because it is located in a region dominated by Muslim nations (whom leftists have formed an ideological and sympathetic bond) that outnumber Israel in terms of size and population 100:1. Besides, Israel is bad because it is Western, accountable to its people, democratic, thriving and successful. That offends people who would rather throw their lot in with medieval Islamists whose system of justice and leadership date back some 1400 years. Muslims are killing one another in the Middle East and targeting non-Muslims but that is somehow quaint, outside...

Judge Puts 'Columbo' Star Falk in Conservatorship Tuesday, June 02, 2009 LOS ANGELES — A judge placed former "Columbo" star Peter Falk in a conservatorship Monday to ensure his daughter could occasionally visit the ailing 81-year-old actor. Falk's wife of more than 30 years, Shera, will remain in control of his personal care and affairs. Falk has advanced dementia, likely from Alzheimer's disease, one of his doctors testified Monday. Catherine Falk petitioned in December to take over her father's affairs despite a sometimes contentious relationship with Falk and his wife. By court order, she will be allowed a 30-minute visit...

There is evidence that Israel committed war crimes during its 22-day campaign in the Gaza Strip and there should be an independent inquiry, U.N. investigator Richard Falk said on Thursday. The mental anguish of the civilians who suffered the assault is so great that the entire population of Gaza could be seen as casualties, said Falk, U.N. special rapporteur on human rights in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. Falk, speaking by phone from his home in California, said compelling evidence that Israel's actions in Gaza violated international humanitarian law required an independent investigation into whether they amounted to...

Richald Falk United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories,is a big believer in human rights, for example he has called the Ayatollah Khomeini a liberator. He has blamed Islamofacist terror on the fact that much of Islam "finds itself under the heels of U.S. economic, military, cultural, and diplomatic power." Falk is also a member of a lawyers organization that the CIA once called a "front" for the Soviet Union and just like Rosie O'Donnell is a member of groups who are still waiting for the "real" story of 9/11. Falk's latest idiocy is calling the...

Either the years haven't been kind to veteran actor Peter Falk or he wasn't having a very good day. The 80-year-old former Columbo star looked dazed and confused as he walked near his Beverly Hills home on Tuesday afternoon.

... So what did the 40-plus members of the council see in Falk? As far as I can tell his attraction lies in the following. He is American, he is Jewish and, more deliciously in light of the first two, he blames Israel for just about everything, as opposed to those who (rightly, in my opinion) blame it for quite a lot. This, for example, is Falk in 2002, on the second intifada: "Palestinian resistance gradually ran out of military options and suicide bombers appeared as the only means still available by which to inflict sufficient harm on Israel so...
