Peter was well recognized as a fine actor. But few ever gave him credit for his talent as a songster. Can't see why not.

From the same film, Sinatra, Martin, Davis, and Bing Crosby warn people against alcohol. Mr Booze

My Peter Falk story. In Jan. 1971, the communists and their allies were holding a sit-in protest at 15th and Pennsylvania Ave. NW, across from the Executive Office Building (East) and near the White House. Among the protestors was avowed VC supporter, Father Groppi.

They blocked the whole intersection so that no one could get across the streets. I was covering the story and noticed a short man in a beige trenchcoat standing next to me, somewhat frustrated at not being able to cross the street.

I went over to him and said, “Mr. Falk. Are you on your way to rehearsal (at the National Theater)?”

He said “Yes”.

I said, “I’ll take care of this” and went over to a policeman, showed him my press card, and said, “Would you please escort Mr. Falk across the street so he can get to his theater rehearsal at the National?”

The officer recoginized Falk and helped him across the street.

Mr. Falk thanked me and as he left I said, “My mother enjoyed your show the other night.”

He was also very funny in the Cheap Detective.

Reading the account of his death scared the heck out of me because he fell victim to anesthesia-induced dementia during a routine dental procedure. Scary to think that your mother or grandmother’s Alzheimer’s Disease may have been a direct consequence of surgery.

I did some online research about this and found many accounts of people who’s family members suffered permanent brain damage after an operation.

All the same, RIP and Godspeed Peter.
