President Joe Biden walked before a row of flags and took his place at a lectern stamped with the presidential seal. A few feet in front of him, thin panes of teleprompter glass, programmed with prewritten remarks, were positioned to meet his stare as he spoke into a microphone that would carry his voice through a soundsystem. His White House press secretary looked on. So did several senior White House officials. Anxiety clung to the humid summer air. What the president was about to say might determine the future of his presidency and perhaps the Republic itself. Yet this was...

Virginia is warning travelers that they may have been exposed to measles earlier this month at the two airports in the Washington, D.C., area. The Virginia Public Health Department said it was notified of confirmed cases of measles at Dulles International Airport on Jan. 3 and Ronald Reagan National Airport on Jan. 4. Health officials are especially urging those who are not fully vaccinated against measles to monitor for symptoms — which typically emerge seven to 14 days after the initial exposure. The health department also noted that there are two stages of measles symptoms.

... In a model using nonhuman primates, researchers administered THC in a daily edible and compared its effects to a group receiving a placebo. Specifically, researchers evaluated the epigenetic changes in several key areas that indicate healthy prenatal development: the placenta -- the disc of tissue that connects the umbilical cord and uterus -- and fetal lung, brain and heart. When looking at these areas, analyses showed that THC exposure altered the epigenome, meaning a process in which the information encoded in a gene is turned into a function or observable trait. Genes -- the segments which make up DNA...

“The mind cannot be seen under the microscope, but the microscope is just a tool we use. Tools are man-made; today with a microscope, you can see molecules, and tomorrow it may be an atomic microscope, or even a super microscope, and you can see smaller things.“Therefore, the fundamental reason why these people are not infected with the coronavirus is that at the macroscopic level, the body’s immune system—spleen, bone marrow, lymph nodes and other organs or tissues—function normally.“At the molecular level, it’s about immune cells, related molecules (interferons, etc) and other substances. But at a more microscopic level, there...

A man was walking his dog when he discovered nearly decomposed human remains on a hiking trail in Oregon, police said. The man reported finding the remains in the evening of Monday, Jan. 10, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said. The report prompted an investigation that began the next morning with several search teams and human remains detection dogs. The dog walker found “skeletonized remains,” meaning the body had likely been in the wilderness long enough for the remains to decompose and begin to reveal the skeleton, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said.

We See the Truth: Trump Has Not Done Enough Damage. Now exposed criminally corrupt liar, Lisa Murkowski says: "He has caused enough damage." But, SHOCKINGLY, she's exposed herself as working to prevent public exposure and fully proper acknowledgement of SYSTEMIC ELECTION FRAUD that SHE KNOWS EXISTS and of which we ALREADY SEE THE PROOFS. Instead of doing the right thing, she's voted to ensure that SYSTEMIC ELECTION FRAUD fully succeeds in working its corruption... while assuming we will PRETEND to not see it, as she is pretending, just expecting we will not see it, as long as SHE PRETENDS to...

Decriminalize HIV exposure and transmission laws. In 2018, 26 states in America had HIV exposure criminal laws. These laws perpetuate discrimination and stigma towards people with HIV/AIDS, and there is simply no “scientific basis” for them. As President, Biden will support legislation like the REPEAL HIV Discrimination Act, which promotes best practice recommendations for states.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, the longest-serving Republican senator, says he is quarantining after being exposed to the coronavirus. Grassley, 87, did not say how he was exposed. He said he would follow doctor’s orders and “immediately quarantine” and work virtually as he waits for results of a test. “I’m feeling well and not currently experiencing any symptoms, but it’s important we all follow public health guidelines to keep each other healthy,” Grassley said in a statement.

By now, you've likely heard the main pieces of advice to avoid the coronavirus. Wear a mask. Wash your hands with soap. Stay at least 6 feet from others. If you do gather with others, go outside rather than inside. Still, there's one more aspect to infection that has received less attention. Growing evidence suggests that Covid-19 infection, like with other illnesses, is related to prolonged time exposed to the virus. The longer you stay in an environment that may contain the virus, the higher the risk of getting sick. Erin Bromage, a comparative immunologist and professor of biology at...

A resident of Solano County, California, who has novel coronavirus might be the first example in the country of "community spread," a situation in which the patient did not have "relevant travel history or exposure to another known patient," the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday. The person's "exposure is unknown," the CDC said in a news release. "It's possible this could be an instance of community spread of Covid-19, which would be the first time this has happened in the United States," the agency said, using the name the World Health Organization gave this coronavirus. Community...

In 1987, not long after David Horowitz had completed his transition from ’60s radical to ’80s conservative, he received a letter from an ex-comrade. They’d just had a political argument over the phone, and she wanted to close the conversation with a summary of his renunciation of the hard Left. They had both been Red Diaper babies, classmates at the Sunnyside Progressive School, and children of members of a Communist enclave in Queens. Now, her companion of the barricades had decided to back “the vile policies of Ronald Reagan.” Why? She spends one paragraph clarifying her own position relative to...

A female Democratic lawmaker on Wednesday reportedly said women who wear revealing clothing often create an “invitation” to sexual harassment. “I saw a member yesterday with her cleavage so deep it was down to the floor,” Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), 71, told fellow Democrats during a caucus private meeting meant to discuss sexual harassment issues, according to Politico. “And what I’ve seen … it’s really an invitation.” Politico’s unnamed sources said, “the comments left many others in the room stunned.” “Maybe I’ll get booed for saying this, but many companies and the military [have] a dress code,” Kaptur reportedly said....

A kidnapping victim was found partially clothed by a group of people who were looking for a Christmas tree.
