Ukraine is on an “irreversible” path to NATO membership, the 32 members of the alliance affirmed in a joint communique released Wednesday on the second day of the summit being held in Washington. Allies had negotiated for months over what language would be published in the joint communique, but discussions on specific words — including “irreversible” — had continued in D.C. throughout the first days of the summit.

The 32-members of NATO on Wednesday formally declared Ukraine on an “irreversible” path to membership in the Western military alliance, offering a bare but more binding assurance of protection once its war with Russia ends. NATO member countries individually and in Wednesday’s joint statement from their summit in Washington announced a series of steps aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defenses. That includes the U.S., the Netherlands and Denmark announcing that the first NATO-provided F-16s would be in the hands of Ukrainian military pilots by this summer. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted his appreciation of the effort to strengthen his air force,...

For many years, I have testified and written about Antifa and its growing anti-free speech philosophy. Some Democratic leaders have embraced this violent movement, which continues to gain strength on campuses and its cities across the nation. It is also a global movement. That is reflected in the alarming election of Antifa candidates to the French National Assembly as well as the European Parliament. That is quite an accomplishment for a movement that President Joe Biden dismissed as “just an idea.”As discussed in my new book, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage,” I explore the history...

A fierce week of campaigning ahead of tomorrow's second round in the election for 577 seats in France's National Assembly. The National Rally message focused on Emmanuel Macron his policies and what Marine Le Pen described as Macron's "coup" to make government appointments ahead of the final round of voting. The RN also focused its attack on the "chaos" of the Left. Meanwhile the New Popular Front focused on demonization of the "Far-Right" and what rule by the RN would mean for France. President Emmanuel Macron's moderate ENSEMBLE faction pulling many candidates out of three-way races to prevent RN victories....

Germany is not the well-functioning, environmentally super-conscious, high-tech nation it used to be. You go to a train station, half the trains are cancelled, the other half is delayed, the escalators are broken, the announcements are barely audible, and in the unlikely event that you can connect to the wifi it’s so slow that by the time the news is streaming it’s become a historical documentary. Or maybe it’s quantum wifi, collapses the moment you touch it

2:23 PM · Jul 1, 2024 · 7.1M Views _________________________ French woman pleads for help: "I am 26 years old, blonde, with light eyes, and I have always lived in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, which is thought of as the poshest area in Lyon, and my daily life has become unbearable. I write this because, ten years ago, I could go out with my friends in the evening, at any hour, without being bothered, insulted, followed, or stabbed. I mention stabbing because, three years ago, my boyfriend, along with two of his friends, on their way home, were approached...

Greece has controversially introduced a six-day working week for some businesses in a bid to boost productivity and employment in the southern European country. The regulation, which came into force on July 1, bucks a global trend of companies exploring a shorter working week. Under the new legislation, which was passed as part of a broader set of labor laws last year, employees of private businesses that provide round-the-clock services will reportedly have the option of working an additional two hours per day or an extra eight-hour shift. The change means a traditional 40-hour workweek could be extended to 48...

Whatever the reasons perhaps economic or military challenges in the months ahead French President Emmanuel Macron made a very deliberate decision to call a sudden election with his moderate coalition at a disadvantage in relation to the Left and above all the Right in France. It was if the Liberal Capitalist banker turned politician Macron felt it necessary to allow the "Far-Right" National Rally a place in the halls of power. The events of October 7th in Israel and the conflict since have brought the Anti-Israel Pro-Palestinian Left out in both the National Assembly and on the streets. Some protests...

Six RAF Eurofighter Typhoons sit on the taxiway, engines roaring on two, as the ground staff hurry about, adding the finishing touches before take-off. In the distance, a cloud of dust rises in the summer haze over the construction site of the second runway, 3.5km (2 miles) long, beside the first. The hot northerly wind buffets the new hangars and the old. Mihai Kogalniceanu (MK) airbase takes its name from the village nearby, itself named after a 19th Century liberal politician. Now, it is the unlikely setting for what is turning into the biggest Nato base in Europe, bigger even...

The left-wing Labour Party may look to scrap government guidance telling schools to teach children that there are only two biological sexes, which would easily be overturned given the failure of the Conservative government to put the policy into law. Shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson said that if elected — as is widely predicted to happen — a Labour government would review guidance from Rishi Sunak’s government which told educators to refrain from teaching far-left gender ideology as a fact. This included the theory that people can somehow be born into the wrong body, can change their sexual identity, or...
