Paris — Voters in France go to the polls Sunday for the first of two rounds of an election to select 577 members of the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament. The snap elections were called by President Emmanuel Macron on June 9 after his ruling Renaissance party performed poorly in elections for the European Parliament, which governs the 27-nation European Unionsnip...
Opinion polls ahead of the first round showed the far-right grouping of parties led by Marine Le Pen's National Rally (RN) firmly in the lead, predicted to win 36% of the vote. Polls indicate the far-right group has a good chance of taking the second, decisive round of the voting on July 7, too.

Sunday’s results will be the first round....likely to be 3 parties going to next election on 7 July. Macron’s party probably was in 2nd place a month ago....wouldn’t say that now.
One odd aspect of this election period...via TikTok, some song came out...title of ‘Ja Partira pas’.....which translates over to something like ‘I won’t leave, you will go’. Yeah, a anti-migrant tune. Among the youth vote (18-to-25), Le Pen’s party has surged a bit in the last week or two.
Far right = moderate sane
How many times In the last 30 years have I heard a Le Pen was going to win? Maybe they will this time but I want to see it before I believe it.
Ever notice there are no “far left” parties in the world?
" Among the youth vote (18-to-25), Le Pen’s party has surged a bit in the last week or two."In Germany young voters are also tended to the right in the latest EU elections… AfD: How Germany's far right won over young voters
In the German case, it was a false belief (for probably a decade), that when they finally allowed 16/17 year olds to vote....the assumption was 90-percent would vote Green or SPD (left-of-center). In the eastern side of the country...overwhelming majority of the youth vote went right/right-of-center.
Three state elections scheduled in eastern German states by Oct...so this youth vote trend worries the standard parties.
I grow weary of the moniker “far right.”
These a-holes are far left. The people on the right especially in the US are simply remaining where they’ve been for a century or more.
We MUST stop using their vocabulary.
16 year olds can vote?!? That’s ridiculous.
To the lapdog media, ‘Far Right’ means anyone more conservative than Joe Stalin.
France still uses paper ballots, but guess what is used to count them...
Not to Deep States.
The obligatory “far-right” accusation in the headline.
Amazing isn’t it? Sets the bar for bias from all “news” agencies you hear anything from. They automatically assume everyone is as leftarded as they are.
