At least two of the 9-11 hijackers probably had a U.S.-based support network, according to a former FBI agent. Danny Gonzalez worked on “Operation Encore,” the still-secret investigation into the two Saudi hijackers who were based in San Diego. Gonzalez told CBS News he’s confident the records of that operation will show the hijackers had help. “19 hijackers cannot commit 3,000 mass murders by themselves,” Gonzalez told the network.

Van Cleef didn't just play bad guys in the westerns but also in detective and crime movies. But it is his work in the westerns that brought him fame. This accountant/U.S. Navy man who served on mine sweepers and sub chasers in WW2 ended up being a super star in Europe! In the Clint Eastwood movie "A Few Dollars More", we had a glimpse of Van Cleef as a nicer character.

During the reading of Article II, Section I of the Constitution -- the clause that requires the president of the United States to be a "natural born citizen," an unidentified woman in the gallery screamed "Except Obama! Except Obama!" Politico's Marin Cogan adds that the woman yelled, "Help us, Jesus!" She was removed immediately. UPDATE: I'm told that the woman who made the disruption was Theresa Cao, a birther activist and supporter of court-martialed birther Lt. Col. Terry Lakin. On December 16, she told WorldNetDaily that she was "taking his message to the White House and Congress."

Sarah Palin. "Barack and I may have started on two separate paths, but we are on one journey now," Clinton said. The crowd and the speakers at the event appeared to consist largely of former Clinton supporters who now back Obama, but her speech was aimed at convincing those who don't, or...

Joe Horn, the infamous neighbor in Pasadena TX who shot two suspected burglars in the back in broad daylight last November, has been cleared by a Texas Grand Jury. According to the Houston Chronicle, Horn "confronted" two men who had allegedly broken into a neighbor's house. Horn had called 911 where his conversation with the operator had been taped: “Move,” Horn can be heard saying on the tape. “You’re dead.” Boom. Click. Boom. Click. Boom. Think it's hot outside? "Good Morning America" wants you to think it is your fault - at least that's why an expert featured on the June 9 show told viewers it is hotter outside. Stanford University professor Dr. Stephen Schneider said that methane and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are making hot temperatures even hotter. "While this heat wave like all other heat waves is made by Mother Nature, we've been fooling around by turning the knob and making a little bit hotter," Schneider said. "[W]e've already increased by 35 percent the amount of carbon dioxide which traps heat. We've...

9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed dropped his legal defense and demanded the death penalty at his Guantanamo Bay arraignment hearing Thursday morning. U.S. military judge Marine Col. Ralph Kolman asked Mohammed if he understood he would be executed if convicted for his role in organizing largest ever terrorist attack on American soil. "Yes, this is what I wish, to be a martyr for a long time," Mohammed told Kohlman. "I will, God willing, have this, by you." Making sure Mohammed understood, Kohlmann asked again, “So you could be sentenced to death?” Kolhmann got an angry retort. "Maybe you didn't understand...

Although today his book is being touted by left-wing reporters and pundits, his initial plans for the project show former White House press secretary Scott McClellan intended to take a much different approach, one that was more sympathetic to President Bush but also quite hard on the "liberal elites" of the Washington press corps and their "hostility" toward the administration. Reading through McClellan's original book proposal, obtained by Politico.com, it is clear that before his editor Peter Osnos took the book on a sharp leftward turn, McClellan wanted to turn the tables on foes in the press gallery including far-left...

Obama: Watch your step! January 28, 2008 By Kathleen Willey Dear Sen. Obama: Today I saw an e-mail sent out to your donors in which your wife states, "What we didn't expect, at least not from our fellow Democrats, are the win-at-all cost tactics we've seen recently. We didn't expect misleading accusations that willfully distort Barack's record." Don't be naïve: When those "fellow Democrats" include Hillary Clinton, be ready to expect anything. I know. As detailed in my recent book "Target," I've been the recipient of just about every dirty trick Hillary has in her arsenal. And if you actually...

The US military claimed on Thursday that American and Iraqi forces had arrested an alleged financier for al-Qaeda who had received $100m from donors outside Iraq to fund insurgent operations. Military officials have long attributed al-Qaeda's expansion in Iraq to its access to external finance, but rarely release figures that give insight into the scale of the operation that they say that they are facing. The $100m (€71m, £50m) sum - far greater than amounts usually associated with Sunni insurgents - had been received over the summer from "terrorist supporters who cross the Iraq border illegally or fly into Iraq...

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- As bishops of the Episcopal Church in the United States struggled to prevent schism Tuesday, one of their number defected to the Roman Catholic church. Jeffrey Steenson, bishop of Rio Grande, Texas, said that remaining in the Anglican communion might take him “to a place apart from Scripture and tradition,” The Times of London reported. Episcopal bishops have been meeting in New Orleans to discuss the church’s position on homosexuality. The consecration in 2003 of Gene Robinson, an openly gay priest in a committed relationship, as bishop of New Hampshire brought the issue to...

Former Democratic Gov. Jeanne Shaheen made her long-anticipated announcement Friday that she is running for the U.S. Senate. "We have major problems facing this country, and there is an urgent need for real change in Washington," Shaheen said in a statement to supporters. "We’ve proven in New Hampshire that we can work together to get things done. I want to take that common-sense approach to Washington and help get this country moving in the right direction," she said. If she beats the three other Democrats already running for the nomination, Shaheen is expected to face first-term Republican Sen. John Sununu,...

Sunni Arab tribes in Anbar, the western Iraqi province, have vowed to avenge the killing of Abdul Sattar Abu Risha, their leader. He died in a roadside-bomb attack near his home in Ramadi, the provincial capital, on Thursday. Abdul Sattar Abu Risha was leader of the Anbar Salvation Council, an alliance of clans that supported the Iraqi government and US forces in fighting al-Qaeda in the province. Thousands of people gathered in Ramadi to attend Friday's funeral. "We blame al-Qaeda and we are going to continue our fight and avenge his death," Sheikh Ahmed Abu Risha, brother of Abdul Sattar...
