That didn't take long. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) is back in leadership. Less than two weeks after the Trump administration withdrew her name from consideration to serve as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made good on his reassurances that Stefanik would once more have a leadership role. Stefanik previously served as the House Republican Conference chairwoman. On Wednesday, Johnson appointed Stefanik as the Chairwoman of House Republican Leadership for the 119th Congress. She was also reappointed to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where she will maintain her seniority. Additionally, she serves as...

President Donald Trump announced that he asked Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., to bow out of contention to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. He cited the House GOP's slim majority, writing on Truth Social, "I have asked Elise, as one of my biggest Allies, to remain in Congress to help me deliver Historic Tax Cuts, GREAT Jobs, Record Economic Growth, a Secure Border, Energy Dominance, Peace Through Strength, and much more, so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN." "With a very tight Majority, I don’t want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise’s seat. The people...

WASHINGTON, March 27 (Reuters) - Discussions are being held on whether Representative Elise Stefanik should step away from her nomination to be President Donald Trump's U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, a White House official said on Thursday. Pulling her from the nomination would be done in part because of concern about Republicans' tight majority in the House of Representatives, which she would leave if confirmed for the post.

At a candidate forum for Democrats preparing to challenge Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York, the youngest woman in Congress, one of the candidates (Steve Krieg, a Plattsburgh City School Board member) proclaimed, “I probably deserve to be called a sexist,” did not back down from calling the congresswoman “a little girl” and went on to call her “a child.” It’s worth noting that none of the other Democratic candidates on the stage objected to that language or characterization. One again we see the consistent principle of, ”it’s only sexism when someone in the other party does it.”

Just to let everyone know that your prayers have helped in a big way. I want to thank everyone who has prayed for our little granddaughter, Ashley Elise. Yesterday she was released from the hospital and is now sleeping in her own crib at home. It was a quite a shock because earlier in the week they said she may be able to come home Saturday or Sunday, but the doctor called my son yesterday and told them to please come and get their daughter they were getting tired of seeing her there. So she is home and doing great....
