Trump asks Stefanik to withdraw from UN ambassador contention over razor-thin House majority

President Donald Trump announced that he asked Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., to bow out of contention to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

He cited the House GOP's slim majority, writing on Truth Social, "I have asked Elise, as one of my biggest Allies, to remain in Congress to help me deliver Historic Tax Cuts, GREAT Jobs, Record Economic Growth, a Secure Border, Energy Dominance, Peace Through Strength, and much more, so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN."

"With a very tight Majority, I don’t want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise’s seat. The people love Elise and, with her, we have nothing to worry about come Election Day. There are others that can do a good job at the United Nations," he said.

Stefanik had been under pressure to take herself out of contention for the role despite appearing poised to sail through Senate confirmation with bipartisan support, CBS News first reported.

Elsie, look at it this way,
just like in that famous Led Zepplin song:
“Your Time Is Gonna Come!!”

She’s very loyal to Trump.
Perhaps Trump is going to ditch the UN and tell them to move out of the US.

I’m so glad Trump did this.

I don’t trust the NY government to hold a fair and honest election. That particular House seat was stolen some years ago when the Republican initially won by something like 80K votes (IIRC) and they demanded recount after recount and kept *finding* more votes and when the democrat finally *won* by a few hundred, they declared that that was all the votes they could find and him the winner, ending the fraud.

The government there was probably THE major reason we left NYS. And a house and community we really loved.

Looked caps le of handling the UnitedNazis ambassador job. Nut is far far better off in Congress without the “resume stain” of the UN on her CV

She was a director of NED. Let that soak in. Do you think she didn’t know what was going on? Musk called NED evil

I’m hoping Elon Musk pours a bunch of money into the Congressional midterms. If the Dems win control of the House and Senate, look for them to start destroying his and the Trump families’ lives.

I agree. And it WILL be brutal when they have the ability to fully retaliate. In the meantime, I’ll thank for for what we can get.

Yet, more than Musk’s money, we need more of what won this election: Prayer.

Jack Hibbs had a great session with Charlie Kirk at his church the other evening. They discussed the political landscape and what we need to do. They see the potential for CA to go red either in the mid-terms or next election, but we can not waste the opportunity God has given this country and Christians need to pray.

Hibbs’ church is VERY large, very strong, and very politically active.

Somebody on Trump’s team was asleep when Trump’s nominees drained an already razon-thin HR majority. My theory: too busy doing victory dances to pay attention to what was really happening in the HR.

I’m glad it was corrected.

OTOH, you never know if that wasn’t intentional, too.

I can see nefarious individuals giving him bad recommendations to weaken his presidency. There had to be others to fill those spots with that messing with the House majority.
