The media may think their clever reporting is hiding Biden’s decline from the world, but the world is well aware of it. Particularly in Australia. Sky News Australia host Andrew Bolt spoke with psychiatrist Tanveer Ahmed on his show and discussed Ahmed’s take on the cognitive condition of the leader of the free world. They weren’t the only ones who noticed this strange behavior from Biden and things are just getting worse. The New York Times published an article earlier this year on how “uncomfortable” Biden’s age is “for him, his team, and his party

Maybe you’ve seen the eyebrow-raising claims on the Internet or elsewhere in the media: rather than celebrating Jesus’ resurrection from the dead and triumph over crucifixion, Easter is really derived from a pagan holiday. Proponents of this theory point to symbols of rebirth and fertility, like eggs and bunnies, that we see at Easter as proof. But the foundation of the claim that Easter is a pagan tradition is the similarity in names: Easter, they say, is the English translation of Eostre, a Germanic goddess of fertility. (Others claim Easter got its name from the Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar, or the...

I was saying to my husband that I wanted to post a thread for Easter, but didn't know what to post. He said, "A rabbit recipe!" My husband's father raised rabbits, and the family grew up eating them. I said that I didn't think that would be exactly appropriate to the season; and Husband said, "It'll be funny!" So, here's a compromise: a pretty Bunny Cake - I think Liz has posted this or something very like it before - and from Epicurious, 'Rabbit Cacciatore' from Ischia in Italy. (If you're like me and averse to eating actual Bunny, Chicken...

CHICO, Calif. - Down Range in Chico has now attracted attention not once, not twice, but three times for its large billboards that sit along Highway 99. "It's pretty smart, to be honest with you," said Andrea Schauer. Schauer is a Redding resident who makes the Redding to Chico drive once a week for business or to shoot at the north Chico gun range. She is amused by the shops ads. "I'm always looking at their banners to see if they have a new one up," Schaeur said. In December, the gun range began an advertising campaign, using the symbol...

Apparently CBS News believes in the Easter Bunny. Newsbusters' Brad Wilmouth reported this morning that CNN's John King made this comment about the Lois Lerner emails that the IRS now claims are supposedly lost: ""Do you believe in the Easter Bunny? Do you believe in Santa Claus? Do you believe that Lois Lerner's emails just suddenly went poof?" Well, CBS News seems to be in Easter Bunny belief mode based on their narrow report Friday, IRS lost Lois Lerner's emails in tea party probe, which carefully avoids any curiosity as how such emails are now supposedly irretrievable. As we shall...

San Diego County parks have set four Easter egg hunts, but are keeping the affairs secular by renaming the featured hopper the “Spring Bunny.” Events over the next two weeks will feature different activities at each location. Some feature face painting and others pancake breakfasts. Eggs hunts are set at four county parks. Image courtesy of County News Center“But the constants at all of them will be a chance to meet the Spring Bunny and lots of eggs – thousands of them!” says the county, whose news release doesn’t use the word Easter. Last year’s release also avoided any religious...

The U.S. Air Force Academy has pulled out of a Christian-sponsored children’s toy drive after commanders were accused of religious intolerance. Mikey Weinstein, an academy graduate who runs the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, said the academy’s participation in Operation Christmas Child is inappropriate because of its evangelical Christian roots. Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse, headed by Franklin Graham — the son of evangelist Billy Graham. It packs toys and other items into shoe boxes and sends them to needy children around the world, along with a Christian message in each gift. “This is arrogance beyond measure,” Weinstein...

WINTERTHUR, DE - Winterthur Museum recently acquired one of the earliest known American depictions of the Easter Bunny, which was sold at Pook & Pook auction house in Downingtown , Pennsylvania . Together with the Christmas tree, the custom of the Easter rabbit and colored eggs was brought to America by immigrants from southwestern Germany in the 1700s, and has become a favorite American tradition. This delightful image is attributed to schoolmaster Johann Conrad Gilbert (1734–1812), who emigrated from Germany in 1757 and ultimately settled in Berks County , Pennsylvania . He likely made the drawing as a gift for...

RAYMOND – Police officers responding to a reported car crash early Tuesday morning heard an unlikely story from the alleged drunk driver behind the wheel. John Fowler, 50, of Raymond, claimed a man had come to his house with information about the location of the Easter Bunny, and Fowler said he attempted to follow him. When he lost the Easter Bunny informant, he tried to return home but crashed his car, Fowler reportedly told police. Fowler did not sustain any injuries in the minor crash in the area of 105 Main St. around 1:30 a.m., but faces numerous charges, including...

Evelyn Burgess was in a jealous rage when she assaulted her teenage cousin for wearing what she considered an inappropriate outfit to Easter dinner. But she relaxed after chasing 19-year-old Danielle Pickens outside and fatally shooting her in the face as she cowered in a car parked in front of Burgess' North Side house. "(Burgess) calmly walked away and stated, 'I killed the bitch,' and placed the gun on the mantel above the fireplace," Assistant Prosecutor Laurie Arsenault said in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. The 42-year-old defendant pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of murder in the April 4...

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits rose 18,000 to a seasonally adjusted 460,000 (week ending 4/3/2010) the Labor Department said. The prior week was adjusted to reflect 442,000 initial claims versus the previously reported 439,000. A Labor Department official attributed the rise in claims to seasonal volatility, mainly from the Easter holiday (a.k.a Easter Bunny) and noted there were shutdowns in two states. A holiday on March 31 in California (Cesar Chavez Day) also had an effect on claims, he said. Wanted By The Department of Labor... Easter Bunny and Cesar Chavez.

FISHKILL – State Police are looking for the person who mugged the Easter Bunny in front of the Alps Sweet Shoppe on Main Street in Fishkill in the late afternoon on Wednesday. Just before 5 p.m., a woman, dressed in a white rabbit costume, was attacked by an unknown assailant as she stood on the sidewalk in front of the shop. The perp charged her and slamming her to the ground before fleeing on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries. The attacker was seen running in the area of the post office. He is described as being about 17 years...

Among the peeves I keep as pets, chief is my loathing of the Easter Bunny. There are many reasons to hate the Bunny. I will get into why in particular the Bunny, but first to some other pressing business. Why is it that religious holidays require mascots to make them palatable to secularists who otherwise wouldn’t give a fig about the celebration? While some mascots are cool in their own right, most add nothing and typically detract from the holiday’s expressed purpose. Take the leprechaun. Actually, don’t take the leprechaun. I am pretty sure that taking a leprechaun is bad...

The Congress of the United States of America is consigning you, your children, and your children's progeny to slavery. Maybe it's the Scottish strain in my DNA, but I've been concerned about the national debt since before it breached the $1 trillion mark. That was way back in 1982. So it's heartening to see folks finally getting concerned about this issue. Debt matters. From the installation of America's first government in 1789, it took 193 years to rack up that initial 13-digit debt. To put such an ungodly bar tab in context, here are some key debt benchmarks. Each benchmark...

OKALOOSA ISLAND, Fla. — What is it about Florida that inspires pet owners to set their captives free? Green iguanas released decades ago now splash in the pools of Palm Beach. Peacocks roam free in parts of Miami, Burmese pythons are spreading through the entire state — and here, on this two-mile shoelace of beachfront land, the bunny problem keeps multiplying. Dozens of rabbits, the spawn of Easter gifts from as far back as 2002, now run wild in a field of two-story condominiums. SNIP ....Russell Beasley just shook his head. He had been building cabinets in his garage when...
