None of the six officially vetted IT firms that do work for congressional offices employed Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s (D-FL) now indicted IT aide, Imran Awan. This is odd, as congressional offices are given a pre-approved list of tech firms to work with for IT support. U.S. Senate offices typically have a fulltime employee on staff that handles IT, but most of the 435 congressmen in the U.S. House of Representatives don’t require that much technical support. They typically hire IT professionals from an approved list of companies as they need them and often use them as “shared” employees with...

A Republican lawmaker on Tuesday described the “massive” data transfers on government servers by a former IT aide to Democratic Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz as “a substantial security threat.” “These facts, standing alone, indicate a substantial security threat,” Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Scott Perry said of the Imran Awan case during an informal hearing of Republican House members on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. Awan pleaded not guilty in September to multiple federal charges including bank fraud and conspiracy. A grand jury had returned an indictment in August in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia charging Imran Awan...

Imran Awan, his brothers and their associates were merely doing what they were “ordered to do” by Democratic members of Congress when the IT aides allegedly falsified records on how the members’ office budgets were spent, according to lawyers for Awan. **SNIP** One of Imran’s lawyers, Aaron Page, who acknowledged the invoicing discrepancy on office equipment last month, told DCNF, “This is just how things have been done for forever. This is what experienced members of Congress expect: to expedite things, they adjust the pricing.” Luke Rosiak of DCNF’s Investigative Group noted that “If members or senior staff instructed IT...

How to explian a solid Russian connection prosecutor Robert Mueller "missed"? Course he is busy staging useless midnight raids into people's homes. Maybe it's b/c it involves Democrats, and a House intel security breach? Mueller seems to be studiously avoiding the shocking details as Awan IT security breach details pour into The DC Swamp. The case implicates dozens of Democrat members of Congress in abuse of office, conspicy to defraud the United States, govt fraud, graft, wire-fraud, espionage, treason, bank fraud, money laundering, tax evasion......and a theft ring run out of the House Democrat Caucus. AND..... (drum roll, please)...... it...

They left a solid traceable paper trail of criminality on Capitol Hill. They were being paid humongous govt salaries, on the govt payroll of some 80 House Democrats and accused of shocking behavior: (A) accused of removing hundreds of thousands of dollars of tax-paid tech equipment from congressional offices, including computers and servers, (B) accused of running a lucrative tech procurement scheme; (C) accused of buying tech equipment, then reselling it, (D) accused of overcharging the House administrative office that assigns IT contractors to House members, (E) accused of scamming a House Congressional bank. The Awan clan consists of three...

Democratic congressional aides made unauthorized access to a House server 5,400 times and funneled “massive” amounts of data off of it. But there’s nothing to see here, Democrats told The Washington Post: They were just storing and then re-downloading homework assignments for Imran Awan’s elementary-school aged kids and family pictures. A congressional source with direct knowledge of the incident contradicted the Post’s account, saying that now-indicted IT aide Imran Awan and his associates “were moving terabytes off-site so they could quote ‘work on the files'” and that they desperately tried to hide what was on the server when caught, providing...

By the end of September federal prosecutors expect to have in their custody Hina Alvi, the wife of a controversial aide to Democratic Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Alvi has agreed to a plea deal in connection to an investigation growing since the start of the year. It is an investigation that circles the periphery of Wasserman Schultz. Coming off a tough 2016, where she ushered the Democratic National Committee into an iceberg -- and with it Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations -- Wasserman Schultz is possibly having an even tougher 2017. Deposed from her position in party leadership, the representative...

On April 6, at midnight, in a small room once used as a phone booth on the second floor of the Rayburn House Office Building, a Capitol Hill Police Officer doing his security rounds discovered evidence that will possibly reveal one of the the biggest security breaches involving House Democrats by the Awan family, a group of entrusted IT staffers, according to court records, police reports and news reports. In the small room, the U.S. Capitol Police found a laptop computer registered to Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, a Florida Democrat and former DNC chairwoman. Wasserman-Schultz had been fighting authorities for months...

California's illegal alien-supporting attorney general, Xavier Becerra, has been curiously silent about that fake server he handed over to cops to obstruct their Imran Awan investigation, according to a new report from the Daily Caller. The broader scandal was outlined in this piece by Thomas Lifson yesterday. Becerra's role is worth noting because he is considered top Democratic talent, a Democratic Party star, with many Democratic leadership positions, including a seat on the House Ways and Means committee, chairmanship of the House Democratic Caucus (now at the center of the Imran Awan secret server scandal) and lately a post as...

A secret server is behind the Capitol Police’s decision to ban a former IT aide to Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz from the House network. Now-indicted former congressional IT aide Imran Awan allegedly routed data from numerous House Democrats to a secret server. Police grew suspicious and requested a copy of the server early this year, but they were provided with an elaborate falsified image designed to hide the massive violations. The falsified image is what ultimately triggered their ban from the House network Feb. 2, according to a senior House official with direct knowledge of the investigation. The secret server was connected...

TruePundit: FBI: Awans Security Clearances “Forged;” Granted Access to Congressional Intel Despite Falsified Vetting Federal law enforcement agents working the Imran Awan and Hina Alvi fraud probe said the couple, along with other members of the family, were never properly vetted for Congressional security clearances. Instead the clearances, which provided the Awans access to dozens of Congressional Democrats computer networks and IT systems, were likely approved absent each individual background file getting “fully investigated.” “I seriously doubt they could have passed a full background (check),” one FBI insider said. “These clearances were pushed through.” FBI insiders used the word...

Prosecutors have given Imran Awan a copy of the hard drive of a House laptop that Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz tried to keep law enforcement from looking at, court filings show, suggesting prosecutors intend to bring charges related to the underlying cybersecurity and theft probe. The hard-drive copy was included in discovery even though the Florida Democrat has said the laptop contains House information on it and is a government-paid work computer, and even though Imran was fired and banned from the House network because of suspected cybersecurity violations.

Hina Alvi, who along with her husband Imran Awan worked for House Democrats and now faces bank fraud and conspiracy charges, had left with her children for her native Pakistan while under federal investigation. Both defendants reportedly worked at one time for Rep. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y. Awan separately worked...

It's starting to look as though Imran Awan and his wife Hina Alvi are making plea deals and incriminating people above them in the food chain. Both of them were I.T. staffers for Democrats in the House of Representatives, earning substantial multiples of customary wages, raising intense suspicions of blackmail. Ms. Alvi reportedly has already made a deal and will be returning to the U.S. from her native Pakistan, where she earlier fled. Her husband was arrested at Dulles Airport, attempting to do the same. Todd Shepherd reports in the Examiner:

Exclusive: Did Imran Want Capitol Police To Find Wasserman Schultz’s Laptop? A laptop that Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has frantically fought to keep prosecutors from examining may have been planted for police to find by her since-indicted staffer, Imran Awan, along with a letter to the U.S. Attorney. U.S. Capitol Police found the laptop after midnight April 6, 2017, in a tiny room that formerly served as a phone booth in the Rayburn House Office Building, according to a Capitol Police report reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group. Alongside the laptop was a Pakistani ID card,...

VIDEO: Awan Asks Judge To Remove GPS, Citing Possible Emergency With Kids In Pakistan A former House of Representatives IT aide was arraigned in federal court Friday on four felony fraud charges, appearing with three attorneys including Chris Gowen, a former close aide to Hillary and Bill Clinton. Gowen asked that Imran Awan’s GPS monitoring bracelet be removed, citing that Imran might need to attend to an emergency with his children. In a press conference outside court, Gowen admitted that the children are in Pakistan and refused to explain the discrepancy. “His ability to parent, which may well be single...
